Hey! Tomura has come back! Our favorite villains to hate returns in chapter 220 of Boku no Hero Academia along with the mass of the League of Villains. This chapter is split between two past elements and a present moment that shows what the League of Villains has been up to and how they are trying to recover from still having no All for One as their leader. Interestingly enough, we also notice that the League of Villains has been killing off villains who aren’t up to par to their skills, which include mutants—which Spinner isn’t too happy about—and any groups that aren’t as powerful as them. Kurogiri still isn’t in the picture though and Tomura is anxious to figure out how to save him to further his own power in the process. The chapter wraps up with the League versing Gigantomachia with the radio showing that the doctor of All for One is alive and well. Chapter 220 of Boku no Hero Academia is pretty solid overall, but let’s look at the highlights and our one issue we had with this chapter.

Why You Should Read Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) Chapter 220

1. Tomura and gang reunite!

While we don’t root for villains here at Honey’s Anime—we’re goody two shoes indeed—we do love the League of Villains and seeing them back brought a smile to our faces. Tomura and his group are clearly broken due to their heavy losses but equally they aren’t giving up yet! The League of Villains still have some power behind them and while they might not be as strong as say Gigantomachia, their resilience is commendable. Poor Dabi though seems to be doing the most work!

2. Gigantomachia is awesome

We’ve seen Gigantomachia and his power before, but knowing he’s such a beast intrigues us greatly. How can Deku and the other heroes face him and win? Is he going to kill someone precious later due to his powers? Our questions are mounting with Gigantomachia and we’re sure many Boku no Hero Academia readers are wondering some of the same questions.

Why You Should Skip Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) Chapter 220

1. A bit confusing

While it isn’t a major issue, chapter 220 of Boku no Hero Academia is a bit all over the place. We understand where it jumps back and forth between time, but equally, we had to read chapter 220 twice to understand some of the details and how they interacted with one another. Some readers might scoff at us and make claims it was a straightforward chapter, we don’t partially care for a chapter jumping between past, past then present. It just comes off as unnecessary.

Final Thoughts

Chapter 220 of Boku no Hero Academia was overall quite solid and we got to see our favorite villains return to the forefront once again. Clearly, Gigantomachia will be a deeper character soon and seeing—kind of—the doctor’s presence was pretty interesting. Now we just have to wait to see how long it will take for Boku no Hero Academia to show us what All for One’s doctor has in store for our evil characters.
