Society in Boku no Hero Academia, you’ve made a mistake here. Chapter 232 of Boku no Hero Academia has our villains meeting face to face with the leader of the Meta Liberation Army, Re-Destro. As we learn from the long-nosed Meta, a lot of his actions seem to stem from the fact that the world inadvertently killed his mother when he was shunned for having Meta abilities. Things get wilder when Re-Destro shows his Meta power which makes his arms grow huge! Not much more happens though in this week’s chapter as Tomura brings down the house—literally—and we see a future face off between the two villainous leaders. This week’s chapter was a lot of talking and Re-Destro showing he’s built tough which excites us for chapter 233 coming soon! Till its release, let’s examine the elements that chapter 232 did well!
1. Re-Destro is Tough!
If we’re being honest, Re-Destro hasn’t impressed us prior to chapter 232 of Boku no Hero Academia. He’s only been a talking head who seems to be sinister and have an overly large sized nose. Then he showed his Meta power and his strength and our minds were blown! Re-Destro isn’t going to go down without a fight and if Tomura butts’ heads with him, the battle between them will be glorious!
2. Meta versus Quirk
With the leaders of both the Meta Liberation Army and League of Villains meeting face-to-face we are at a really cool impasse. What is stronger, a Quirk user or a Meta user? As we saw with Re-Destro standing tall as a building collapsed around him, is his Meta strength proving itself to be stronger than a Quirk’s powers? Chapter 233 will give us the answer—we hope—but comment below to theorize with us which side do you think has the upper hand at the moment?
Final Thoughts
Boku no Hero Academia chapter 232 was a quick chapter and seemed to be focused mainly on Re-Destro, his dark past and how shunning individuals in any ways could lead to grave repercussions later in life. While the chapter didn’t have many epic fights or the reappearance of our large Gigantomachia—Where is the beast at, we wonder—it showed two evil titans coming face to face and pumping us up for a grand battle to come!
