Discussion Time
Well now, that was a bit shocking. Endeavor hasn’t been quiet about his disdain for training anyone that wasn’t his son. However, now that Endeavor knows time is running out and something big will no doubt occur when the clock runs out, he knows his pride needs to be turned down a bit. That’s why chapter 247 focuses on Endeavor listening to Deku, Shoto, and Bakugo to see what they want to accomplish and why.
Deku goes into a very detailed—and comically long—description of his new power/goals and Endeavor comes to a strange bond with him for “suffering” like his son. Shoto tells his father off and puts it out there he’s training under him not to please him but to propel himself forward as a hero. Lastly, Bakugo comes out with the cockiest response—its Bakugo after all—saying he knows he can’t be beaten that easily but still wants to obtain the number one hero spot somehow.
After listening to their thoughts, Endeavor then gives his trio a rundown of his agency and their first task. Their goal is to beat a villain before he can! Are the trainee heroes ready for such a task? While Deku, Bakugo, and Shoto are all strong going toe to toe with the number one pro hero might be even beyond their skills. We shall no doubt see what they can accomplish in the next few chapters of Boku no Hero Academia but for now, let’s look at our favorite elements of chapter 247!
1. An Understanding Endeavor?
Endeavor has established he’s far from a father figure and doesn’t seem to care about others that much. Then out of nowhere, our new number one pro hero shows a caring side towards our teen heroes! This version of Endeavor seems truly out of character but to be honest, we kind of like this Endeavor and hope he’s going to really earn that number one hero spot!
2. Challenge Ahead!
Chapter 247 of Boku no Hero Academia threw us a big surprise with that challenge Endeavor gave Deku, Bakugo, and Shoto. Endeavor has shown that while he’s far from All Might in terms of strength, he’s also no pushover and can take down villains in mere seconds. Our younger heroes are tough contenders but for them to best a villain before Endeavor? Is that even possible!? We can’t wait to see how they’ll accomplish this task and it will definitely be entertaining to witness it!
Final Thoughts
Boku no Hero Academia chapter 247 was a very dialogue-focused chapter but it was a solid read nonetheless. We see a new side of Endeavor that despite his prideful self, seems to want to train these kids to be ready for a possible upcoming war. Can our pre-heroes rise to Endeavor’s challenge though and somehow better themselves in the process?
