- Bonobono was first animated back in 1995, with the original four-panel manga by Mikio Igarashi starting serialisation thirty years ago, in 1986.
- In celebration of this benchmark, it has been decided that the classic series will be getting a brand new animation, produced by Fuji TVs Eiken. It will begin airing on April 2 2016.
- This children's classic follows the pleasant everyday life of baby otter Bonobono and his forest friends - but amongst the laughter lies philosophical musings on what it means to be a living creature.
