Comic Market, or Comiket as its more widely known by, is a prestigious event that takes place twice a year here in Japan. The event is a celebration of sorts with regards to the cultural artistic integrity that Japan is known for, such as anime, Doujinshi, and cosplay. The latter has become more widely accepted over the past several years and continues to thrive, due to devoted fans investing their time and effort to showcase their talents to the world. From the outside looking in Comiket looks like some massive market for goods, which indeed it is, but there's also a lot of cultural intricacies that you'll only truly experience once you venture inside.
