Synopsis

Gene is a production assistant who absolutely loves movies and remembers all the movies he’s watched, who now has the chance to work with the famous producer Pompo-san. Though he never thought he'd direct himself, at Pompo-san's request he films a 15 second commercial and comes to realize the joy of directing. Pompo-san eventually shows him the script for his upcoming movie "MEISTER", set to star an A-list actor making his return to the big screen; Gene is sure it'll be a hit. After the success of his commercial, Pompo-san awards the role of director to Gene. Throw in the new actress Pompo-san discovered himself, and Gene is in for a stormy ride as shooting begins!

Gene works for Pompo-san as a production assistant and hopes to learn the ins and outs of movie making. He absolutely loves movies and always takes notes about everything, from the actual movies he watches to things happening on set at work. He's always admired directors but never thought that he would be able to do something so grand. However, thanks to Pompo-san he gets to make his directing debut. If he had the time to do so, he’d work on everything until every tiny detail was perfect.

Pompo-san is a movie producer. His grandfather is the legendary producer J.D Petersen, and Pompo-san has managed to make a lot of connections through him. Pompo-san has a great eye for people and movies. Using his ability to realize a person’s natural charm and characteristics that are bound to be good for film, and his great decision making skills, he always manages to create movies of high quality. However, he’s also really bad at holding back his own emotions and can be childish.

Nathalie Woodward: Rinka Otani

Nathalie is a new actress. She’s wanted to become one ever since she was a young girl and applied to various auditions while working part time. She was finally able to make her debut when Pompo-san noticed her. She gets to live, study, and train with Mystia. Nathalie is very positive and always makes sure to keep a smile on her face.

Mystia: Ai Kakuma

Mystia is a popular, up-and-coming actress. She’s an expressive natural talent, but is also a hard worker and diligently studies and works out to stay in shape. Though she doesn’t care for food, mainly consuming energy drinks and supplements. Her dream is to one day produce and star in her own film, and she's already started saving up to realize that dream in the future. She’s very gentle and a woman who’s good at looking out for others.

Martin Braddock: Akio Otsuka

Martin Braddock is a living legend. He’s reached the top in the film industry and has won six Macademy awards. He hasn’t done any acting for about ten years, but has decided to return to acting through Pompo-san's new film. With his amazing aura, he’s straightforward and the type who immediately tells the director his opinions, but for co-stars and staff he’s difficult to approach.

Alan Gardner: Ryuichi Kijima

Alan is a banker at Nyallywood Bank. Gene was his high school classmate, but they barely had a connection as Gene was a movie nerd, and Alan used to be high up in the school hierarchy.
