Picking up right where the 2017 smash hit Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star left off, and directed by the original creator of Fate/stay night, Fate/EXTELLA LINK adds 10 Servants to the original roster of 16. The high-speed action gameplay has been refined and players will battle their way through massive invading armies to wrest back control of SE.RA.PH. from an invading force. Players on the PlayStation 4 can now engage in massive 4-on-4 online battles with up to 7 other players. Choose your favorite Servant and make your foes quiver at the true name of their Noble Phantasm.
Gameplay
The controls are fairly easy and allow for quick, beautifully animated attacks and special moves. The customizable shortcuts to upgrade your defense, magic, attack power and more are very helpful in the heat of the battle, as is being able to perform devastating Chain Phantasm attacks by teaming up with support Servants! Which is extremely useful when there are baddies coming from every direction and several Aggressors taking aim at you too. Not to mention the boss adding to these insane encounters and hiding among the hordes.
All of this without mentioning that Astolfo, Scáthach and Francis Drake are just some of the characters from other Fate games that make an appearance and are playable! You can also move freely around your army’s base camp—a gorgeous, medieval cathedral suspended in the sky. And interacting with your Servants builds your bonds, so you can influence and boost your combined attacks by socializing with them!
Both combat mechanics and animation have been refined for the ultimate in single and multiplayer battles. And who doesn’t want to see this adorable fox girl running around kicking the asses of hordes of bad guys (and sexy bad girls!) who have no chance against her, Charlemagne, Saber or any of their allies!

An otaku as far as I can remember. I grew up playing video games, watching anime in Spanish in Mexico where I grew up, and then was a member of both anime clubs at UTEP for my entire university life when I moved to Texas. I love going to cons, I used to cosplay (always hoping to get back into it), and I got to live in Japan for 2 years and be an otaku there! It was literally a dream come true! Now back in the US, I love being a writer and editor for Honey’s. It’s a great chance to keep up with all the latest anime each season and up to date with all otaku news. And without our readers, that wouldn’t be possible so, thank you for being a part of our hive!!
