Synopsis
Soma Yukihira, who has been training his ability of cooking at the set meals restaurant and also his home, "Restaurant Yukihira", enters the outstanding elite culinary school "Totsuki Culinary Academy" with the recommendation from his father.
After experiencing the Shokugeki (food competition) with his rivals and studying with his friends, he has been steadily growing as a chef.
Soma is now a 2nd-year student and owns "the 1st seat" of the Totsuki Elite Ten Council, which is proof of him being the strongest in the school.

Soma Yukihira: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
He is heir of an inexpensive restaurant, and is the 1st seat of the Totsuki Elite Ten Council. He is the protagonist of the anime who has extensive passion and ability on cooking.
Erina Nakiri: Hisako Kanemoto
She is the CEO of Totsuki Academy, and believes in elitism. She has a wonderful sense of taste called, "God's Tongue."
Megumi Tadokoro: Minami Takahashi
The 10th seat of "Totsuki Elite Ten Council". She is good at local dishes, and she is highly-valued for her care toward the people who eat her dishes.
Takumi Aldini: Natsuki Hanae
The 7th seat of "Totsuki Elite Ten Council". He is the son of the local restaurant in Florence, Italy. He is good at Italian cuisine, and doesn't like to lose like Soma.
Asahi Saiba: Jun Fukuyama
A man who stands out among the members of "Le Cuisine Noir". He was the apprentice of Some's father when he was in the United States. He is the user of the ability "Cross Knives," which combines multiple cooking tools and traces the cooking abilities of the original chef, and he takes away the cooking tools from whom he defeats in the Shokugeki, using them for himself.
