Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass—Announcement Trailer
What You Need to Know:
- It's not too often, especially in the gaming industry, where you have major companies lend an ear and listen to the input of fans. That rarity seems to now feel like common practice, at least with Game Freak, as fans have been complaining about the visuals in Pokemon Sword & Shield since the very beginning.
- The title, which released back in November of last year, was critically acclaimed and received a lot of positive reviews including from yours truly. However, one of the major gripes that a lot of fans including ourselves weren't too pleased with were the below par visuals and performance issues that plagued the game. Take a nice bike ride through the wild area a few times and you'll see what we mean.
- A lot of the wild area just looked very underdeveloped on a visual level, and noticeable lag hit us when riding around the nursery. However, all of this seems to be an issue Game Freak has listened to and made immediate changes, especially in the latest trailer for the upcoming expansion set to release in the summer and later in 2020.
- In the trailer above you can definitely tell that Game Freak has made an effort to ensuring that visuals are up to par, and that fans receive what they've asked for. Sure, we don't get the National Dex but hey, we're getting two brand new expansions with brand new Pokemon so I'm totally happy about that! What about you? Let us know in the comments, and be sure to look forward to our review of Pokemon Tundra & Crown when they release!
I knew Game Freak would listen! They know the fans deserve it!
