What You Need to Know:

  • Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, the latest entry in the classic sci-fi series Ghost in the Shell, is scheduled to release worldwide on Netflix on April 23, 2020.
  • The anime’s opening theme “Fly with me” will be released as a single on April 22. Two-time Grammy-nominated DJ/Producer Steve Aoki has created a remix of this song, which will be included as a bonus track. Steve Aoki’s track is titled “Fly with me - Steve Aoki Neon Future Remix.” The original “Fly with me” is a song produced by millennium parade, a creative team led by the talented musician Daiki Tsuneta, who is also a member of the rock quartet King Gnu.
  • Steve Aoki has a long history with the Ghost in the Shell series. He first discovered the anime in his teens and has publicly stated that his album “Neon Future” was influenced by it. He also remixed the theme song for the 1995 Hollywood release of Ghost in the Shell.
  • On April 22, two “Fly with me” titles will be released simultaneously. The first, released by FlyingDog (Victor Entertainment), is titled “millennium parade × ghost in the shell: SAC_2045” and will include Steve Aoki’s remix. The second, released by Sony Music, is simply titled “millennium parade” and will include “millennium parade Live2019” from the group’s first Tokyo-Osaka tour.
  • There are two box art designs: a collaboration version (FlyingDog) between Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 and millennium parade and a millennium parade version (Sony Music) featuring the artist. Both were designed by PERIMETRON, who have also worked on King Gnu and millennium parade’s artwork and music videos.
  • The CD single comes with a bonus DVD containing a talk session between Director Kenji Kamiyama, Director Shinji Aramaki, Daiki Tsuneta, Shu Sasaki (PERIMETRON), and Yuhei Kobe (PERIMETRON). This DVD is a must-have for fans of millennium parade and Ghost in the Shell! See what Steve Aoki has to say about these singles down below!
