What You Need to Know:
- Previously, we had broke news that Haikara-san ga Tooru aka Smart-chan would be getting a new anime movie to celebrate it's 40th anniversary this year. The news gets even better today with the cast and staff reveal plus a surprise!
- The director has been revealed to be Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Gundam UC, Ruruoni Kenshin). He will also write the script for the movie. Along with that are that Saori Hayami will be playing the role of the main character, Benio Hanamura, and Mamoru Miyano will be the voice of Shinobu Ijuin.
- The other surprise is that this will not be one movie, but two! The first title was also revealed to be "Benio ~Hana no 17-sai~" or Benio ~A flower at 17 years old~. It seems like more and more older anime are getting reboots recently! What are your thoughts on this?

The 1970s version is very meh so I am looking forward to seeing what the new Benio looks like.
We really have been getting reboots lately. We have 3-nen D-gumi Glass no Kamen on air now and now this. Nice.
