The humor in this show is unparalleled. While to some it might seem to be over the top, that is part of what makes it appealing. The exaggerated emotions of the characters are endearing. For example, Tamaki is always exaggerated in everything he does but it is part of who he is as a character and adds to his development. There are many aspects of this show that could easily be meme-worthy and are what make this show a shining example of not only a reverse-harem but a comedic anime as well.

The pacing of this show allows it to be very organic and easy to re-watch over and over. The characters never get old because the humor allows them to never dry out or become repetitive. All 26 episodes of this anime are well done and stay true to its genre of both shoujo and comedy while allowing for other emotions to shine through. You find yourself rooting for different characters throughout the episodes even though the main pairing is obvious. While there are many different characters, the editing allows each to get an ample amount of screen time for the maximum fan service.

This may fall into the editing aspect of this article, but there is a reason that Ouran Koukou Host Club climbs to the number one spot on the lists of best reverse harems. The characters allow for multiple options for Haruhi to fall in love with and each option has a character development that gives each depth and emotion. As a viewer, you become emotionally attached to each character and while we all have a favorite, it is hard not to root for them all to succeed in their relationships with Haruhi. Ouran Koukou Host Club is truly an ideal reverse harem and arguably the best in the genre.
