She was struggling with the fact that she sometimes hurts people unintentionally by her innocent words and decided to join the Air Self-Defense, hoping to maintain a certain distance from people. This decision led her to a fateful encounter which profoundly changed her life.

That was the dragon hidden in the base which chose Hisone as his pilot.

When he soared into the sky with Hisone, her fate as a dragon pilot was decided.

Hisone Amakatsu

Hisone is a rookie pilot at the Gifu base of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). She is a very honest person who can never lie, and this leads her to hurt people unconsciously. Early in her career, she encountered a dragon, Masotan, and was swallowed by him. This is how he chose Hisone as his pilot. She gradually gets thrilled to fly with Masotan, and decides to live her life with the legendary dragon.

Nao Kaizaki

Voice Actor: Tomoyo Kurosawa

Nao is a candidate for dragon pilot at the Gifu base and has a strong fighting instinct which means that she always provokes fights with those around her. Her mother was also a dragon pilot. Although Nao was the prime candidate to be a dragon pilot until Hisone showed up, the dragons didn't accept her. Being jealous of Hisone who was chose by Masotan, Nao continues to tease her. However, she is actually a very hard worker.

El Hoshino

Voice Actor: Maki Kawase

El works at the Tsuiki base in Fukuoka Prefecture as a dragon pilot. She is cool, dignified, and is very good at both academics and sports. El believes that she should be the ace among other pilots. However, her depth of understanding of OTF(dragons) is very low and her co-workers find her difficult to deal with. She pilots a dragon disguised as an F-2A fighter aircraft.

Liliko Kinutsugai

Voice Actor: Satomi Arai

Liliko is a cool and clever dragon pilot at the Misawa base in Aomori Prefecture. She cannot help but imagine worst-case scenarios for everything, and she always has negative thoughts. She has a phobia of looking others in the eyes, she is always half crying and thus cannot live without a handkerchief. Liliko is very competent and pilots a dragon which is disguised as an E-2C, the Airborne Early Warning aircraft.

Mayumi Hitomi

Voice Actor: Kaori Nazuka

Mayumi works at the Iruma base in Saitama Prefecture as a dragon pilot. She is big, slow, powerful, and always has gentle smile. When she was working at a zoo, an employee of the Iruma base witnessed that all of the wild animals were attached to her and scouted her for a dragon pilot. Mayumi understands dragons and expresses their feelings to other pilots. She pilots a dragon which mimics the C-1, a transport aircraft.

Sada Hinomoto

Voice Actor: Romi Park

Sada is a mysterious old lady who goes in and out of the base to sell healthy drinks. She is always wandering around the base, and she gives Hisone significant advice. Although she seems to know a lot about dragons, no one knows who she actually is.
