Virtual Crunchyroll Expo is in full swing and Honey's Anime got the chance to interview three of the talents featured in the The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2: Naofumi's Party Special Talk panel! We got some of our questions answered by Asami Seto (Raphtalia), Kaito Ishikawa (Naofumi Iwatani), and Rina Hidaka (Filo)!
Honey’s Anime: Raphtalia is loved by many fans. What is your favorite moment voicing her?
Raphtalia had a painful experience as a child, but since she met Naofumi and received support from him, she has grown into a strong woman on her own. I was really moved by that. I also like that she is reliable and pure, and I think it’s adorable that she shows a lot of jealousy and cute expressions. I believe these personalities of hers are loved by fans.
Honey’s Anime: What drew you to The Rising of the Shield Hero and what was different about it compared to other roles you’ve played?
Honey’s Anime: What are your thoughts on the relationship between Naofumi and Raphtalia?
Honey’s Anime: Did you come across any challenges trying to find the right voice for Naofumi in The Rising of the Shield Hero?
So I try to think about what kind of emotion and intention the character is expressing at that moment.
Honey’s Anime: What was your favorite scene in the first season and why is that?
It was the first time he was truly saved since he came to this world.
Honey’s Anime: What do you think makes Filo from the Rising of the Shield Hero resonate with the audience?
Honey’s Anime: You play a lot of little sister characters like Filo. What do you think makes the perfect little sister? Do you have something you are careful of or special techniques when you play a sister character?
