What You Need to Know:
- Japan-based independent developer OTUSUN LAND has begun a crowdfunding campaign to aid in the production and localization
of their new title “Carrion Crow”. Scheduled to be released in Summer 2019, “Carrion Crow” is a horror visual novel and a follow-up to OTUSUN LAND’s 2018 title “Neighbor”. - The campaign has a funding goal of $10,000, and is live until December 14th. Campaign rewards include physical soundtracks and guidebooks for the game, exclusive t-shirts, and a chance for backers to have their own name appear in-game.
- The campaign also features two stretch goals at launch, one of which would allow the game’s soundtrack to be expanded to include contributions from Masuko Tsukasa (Shin Megami Tensei series, Caligula), Murasaki Hirofumi (Sakura Taisen series), Satou Gou (Raiden series), and Kaida Akari (Breath of Fire, Resident Evil). What is Carrion Crow?
“Carrion Crow” follows protagonist Yuuki Shouko as she investigates the circumstances behind a string of mysterious deaths. After attending the funeral of the chief editor of the publishing company she works for, Shouko begins to make connections to a number of other recent unexpected fatalities. Through her investigations, it soon becomes clear that if Shouko can’t put a stop to these deaths, her boyfriend may be next. While not being produced as a direct sequel, “Carrion Crow” is a follow-up to OTUSUN LAND’s previous horror title “Neighbor”, in which Shouko briefly appeared.
Story
Chief Editor Saitou of Light Publishing suddenly passes away in an unexpected, unlikely suicide. Yuuki Shouko attends his funeral.
On the way home, Shouko recieves a call from a friend, probing into the suspicious circumstances of Saitou's death. Despite trying to dismiss the questions - not her problem - Shouko is soon pulled into the heart of a string of mysterious fatalities.
In each incident, the victims have stabbed themselves to death, wounds littering their bodies from head to toe.
Shouko is forced to investigate the dark truth behind these deaths, with the help of her boyfriend Watabe Kouichi.
Soon, a troubling connection between the victims begins to come to light.
They, like Kouichi, were all former member's of Light Publishing's third editing board.
This leads Shouko to one terrifying conclusion: her boyfriend is next...
