Kimetsu no Ripoff? Korea Creates Own "Version" and Fans React!

What You Need to Know:

  • With the huge surge in popularity that Kimetsu no Yaiba has received all over Japan and presumably the world, it seems that copy cats are hungry for a little bit of that success and Korea seemed to take the first bite. A game was released April 24th titled "Kisatsu no Tsurugi" which looks oddly similar to that of Kimetsu no Yaiba, but what's more telling is the actual story pertaining to the game.
  • The main character in the story is named Tatsuya and he's determined to embark on a journey to kill Oni (demons), after his entire family was killed by them (*cough* Tanjirou *cough*). Photos of the game were revealed as well and much of the costume design along with the color palette look almost the same. Another red flag we say!
  • In addition, there's a copy cat Nezuko who acts as the main heroine of Kisatsu no Tsurugi, in which she too dons two horns on her forehead. Other characters in the game closely resemble that of the original which makes us think that these copy cats didn't really try hard enough to be different. It's understandable that times are quite hard and we all have to eat during the quarantine, but damn, just straight out copying the design AND story? For shame..As of this article being published, the "official" website for the game has been shut down, which is not surprising, likely due to the Kimetsu no Keisatsu (Police) coming in to save the day.
