What You Need to Know:
- It has been announced that Kyoto Animation's anime movie adaptation of Koe no Katachi (A Silent Voice) has won the prize for best animation at the 40th Japanese Academy Awards.
- In celebration of the award, a special greeting event and showing of the film will be held in Shinjuku, Tokyo on 1 February 2017, with tickets going on sale on 28 January.
- The school drama follows Shouko Nishimiya, a deaf girl, and her childhood bully Shouya Ishida when they are reunited in high school. Since its premiere it has been highly praised, nominated for Best Animation Film at the 71st Mainichi Film Awards, and was one of the highest-grossing films of 2016 in Japan.
