- Yesterday, in celebration of the 1 year anniversary, a special event was held for Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni. There, they announced that a special "long" or extended version of the movie is coming.
- After debuting on November 12, 2016, the movie rose to fame rapidly thanks to the explosive success of Kimi no Na wa. Eventualy, Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni went on to win various awards including the 40th Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year, 21st Japan Internet Movie Awards for Best Film, Best Director, and more, plus a slew of other awards that continue to pour in.
