KyoAni Postpones Violet Evergarden Movie Due to Coronavirus

What You Need to Know:

  • With the current global pandemic that's taking place surrounding the COVID-19 virus, a lot of animation studios are ensuring that the healthy and safety of employees is top priority. Just last week we announced that Kojima Productions, the studio for Hideo Kojima, temporarily closed its doors after a Coronavirus scare. Now KyoAni, a studio that has already gone through a tremendous amount of tragedy, is making sure that a 2nd incident doesn't happen again.
  • Early yesterday afternoon the official KyoAni Twitter posted that the upcoming Violet Evergarden movie that was scheduled to release in Japan April 24th, has been postponed until further notice. No date has been given as to when the movie will be aired again but the official Twitter sincerely apologized for its decision, letting fans know that their decision was a difficult one.
  • With the world in a state of panic and risks continuing to rise, we wholeheartedly agree with the decision and would rather wait for a more opportune time to watch the movie, with no major risks involved. We love you KyoAni and look forward to the next announcements.
