Largest Anisong Event in Japan, Animelo Summer Live Postponed

What You Need to Know:

  • While much of the situation in Japan has somewhat simmered down relating to COVID-19 many concert and event holders are still wary of what could happen down the road. The recent state of emergency was lifted here in Tokyo not too long ago but that didn't stop Animelo Summer Live, aka Anisama, from playing the safe card and postponing their event until further notice. Since the COVID-19 situation is still quite unpredictable and many are still fearful of a 2nd wave approaching, the staff decided that "Animelo Summer Live 2020 -COLORS-", which was scheduled to be held from August 28th - 30th is to be put on hold.
  • This event is considered to be Japan's largest anisong festival, which consists of over 60 groups and 147 performers. Many fans were pretty excited to hear about the event but now the team is trying to ensure that all measures are met. With over 80,000 people assumed to have purchased their tickets for the event it's pretty safe to say that their decision was pretty swift, since 80,000 people in one venue is pretty risky.
  • The staff have also confirmed that ticket reservations are now cancelled and are now focusing on "Animelo Summer Live 2020 -COLORS-" to restart next year from August 27th - 29th in Saitama prefecture (still planning). In addition, the Animelo staff have encouraged fans who have already purchased their electronic tickets to hold on to them until further notice. What a year it's been so far huh?...we can only hope for the best at this point.
