Leadale no Daichi Nite (In the Land of Leadale) Review - Relaxing Time in a Fantasy World

Given the opportunity to go into a world of fantasy and magic, farming experience and leveling up isn’t the only thing we’re going to do. We will make sure to take our time exploring the world like a tourist on vacation. Don’t get us wrong, we love to be overpowered and also feel the adrenaline rush accompanying goblin slaying. However, that will be a waste of a beautifully crafted world. That being said, here’s what we think of Cayna’s adventures in Leadale no Daichi Nite (In the Land of Leadale).

A Good Break From All The Fighting

Winter 2022 is filled with action-packed anime being led by the second season of Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) and the final season of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan). While it’s a blessed situation for anime fans such as ourselves, there’s barely enough room to catch our breath. The tension and the roller coaster of emotions from these anime keep us at the edge of our seats at all times. That’s where In the Land of Leadale comes in.

Cayna doesn’t really like exerting herself. All she wants to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy herself. Even when some sudden problem arises, she’s overpowered enough to handle it without breaking a sweat. Because of that, In the Land of Leadale is pretty tame. It does have the typical action and adventure isekai anime are famed for, but there is rarely any tension or drama. This anime is perfect for a relaxing watch, be it while watching all those fast-paced action anime or after a rough day.

Mystery Box of Characters

Even though Cayna is a wonderful character that won’t let anything shackle her, the true charm of this series is its random characters. To be exact, the characters Cayna summons or acquires. Since Cayna is technically one of the strongest and most active players in Leadale, she has amassed a great deal of items, characters, summons, and whatnot.

The anime has simply left that fact in the open without really fully showing the extent of Cayna’s inventory. Every time Cayna brings a new item, summon, or character out, the viewers are just as surprised as the characters are. As an added bonus, all of these characters are very much likable.

Lovable But Forgettable

While the characters around Cayna – her children, friends, and underlings – are impossible to dislike, Cayna also has her own charms. Her decisions and line of thinking are a sight to behold, especially since she has zero care about the consequences of her actions. We really can’t blame her since she can easily deal with said consequences either through her connections or her abilities. Even with all this said, In the Land of Leadale does not leave any lasting impressions.

Don’t get us wrong. In the Land of Leadale is a fun watch. Cayna’s shenanigans are entertaining to witness. Some of which even put a smile on our faces. But just like a happy day in a fun-filled summer, it’s great but nothing special. We will definitely remember how nice it is should we encounter it again in the future, but it won’t necessarily come into mind unprompted.

Final Thoughts

The Land of Leadale delivers what it promises to deliver. That is an entertaining and fun watch. The anime does not put any mental load on its viewers, so its audience can sit back and enjoy exploring the land of Leadale along with Cayna. What do you guys think of In the Land of Leadale? Manga and anime were big parts of my childhood. I grew up watching Yu Yu Hakusho, Slam Dunk, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z. Those were probably one of the happiest and most carefree days of my life. In fact, most of my values are probably molded by manga. No, that's not an exaggeration.
