What You Need to Know:
- It was announced last Friday that an anime adaptation of light nove 'Kyuukyoku Shinka Shita Full Dive RPG ga Genjitsu yori mo Kusoge Dattara' (What If the Ultimately Evolved Full Dive RPG was a Crappier Game than Reality) is set to air in Spring 2021.
- Animation will be handled y Studio ENGI, Kazuya Miura (Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai!) will direct, Kenta Ihara (Shachou, Battle no Jikan Desu!) is in charge of series composition, and Yuuta Kevin Kenmotsu (Sword Art Online: Alicization) will handle character design.
- The main cast has also been announced. Hiro Yuuki, played by Daiki Yamashita (My Hero Academia); Reona Kisaragi, played by Ayana Taketatsu (The Quintessential Quintuplets); Alicia, played by Ai Fairouz (Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru?); Mizarisa, played by Shiori Izawa (The Asterisk War); Kaede Yuuki, played by Aoi Koga (Kaguya-sama: Love is War); and Martin, played by Haruki Ishiya (Akiba's Trip The Animation).
- Story: High school student Hiro Yuuki gets a copy of Kiwame Quest, a full-dive RPG that "takes reality to the extremes". The environments and sensations are completely realistic, real-life stats are reflected, woulds take days to heal and it actually hurts when you receive damage. And so, Yuuki sets off to conquer a game that makes real-life look like a cake walk!
- The first volume of the light novel was published by Kadokawa in August and a second volume is expected to publish this month.
