About Made in Abyss:
Why You Should Watch Made in Abyss: Journey’s Dawn
At almost two hours, Journey’s Dawn is not a quick watch, but it never drags. We quickly become acquainted with our main characters, fall in love with them, and set off on a journey with them. Every minute of Journey’s Dawn is filled with storylines, plot-driving relationships, important conversations, and of course, gorgeous and fantastical settings and character designs.
Though a lot happens in Made in Abyss: Journey’s Dawn, as the first installment, it also sets up the rest of the story and takes us through the beginning of Riko and Reg’s journey. We get to meet all the important characters, find out some interesting facts about their world, and we are plunged into the multiple levels of the Abyss, awestruck by the beauty and heaviness of it all while worrying about our adorable little heroes and whether they will reach their goals and find the answers they seek regarding themselves and the Abyss itself.
Final Thoughts
We expect nothing but greatness from Kadokawa and Sentai Filmworks so it’s no surprise that they would not only create such an incredible anime series but they were able to somehow make it even better and accessible to those who missed it and don’t have the time for a full binge-watch. At the same time, this gorgeous film is sure to be loved and enjoyed by those familiar with the series as well, and no doubt, when it is available on Blu-ray, it will be quite the collectible item.
Are you planning on watching Made in Abyss: Journey’s Dawn in theaters this month? Will you watch it dubbed? Or subbed? (They are both fantastic, by the way.) Will you be attending the red carpet premiere? Talk to us in the comments below, and see you at the movies!
