And thus it returns! And so quickly too! The first season finished in March of 2016 and now the second season is starting in Fall 2016!

All we can do now is wait. It’s fantastic that the second season was confirmed though. That must mean that the staff will be the same as well as the studio! Maybe we will even be lucky and get another 25 episode season so we have more to enjoy!

What we do know for sure, is that it is awesome that the members are all coming back! I’m sure the story will pick up right where it left off and just keep going! I wonder what they will all be getting into next?

Just in the meantime, use Aldonah Zero, Gurran Lagann, and Code Geass to keep yourself happy. If you’re looking for a slightly similar Gundam series with a princess, Gundam Wing is a good place to start in the Gundam Universe too!

(This is the 2nd Season of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans.)

There was a great war referred to as the “Calamity War.” It has been 300 years since this war has ended.
Somewhere in those 300 years, the Earth’s government has been overthrown and a new government has been established in its place. While everything on earth has been enjoying a transient peace, on nearby Mars, the coals of dissent are breathing life into a new war.

Augus Mikazuki currently is employed in Chryse Guard Security (CGS) on Mars as a bodyguard working for Kudelia Aina Bernstein. Kudelia currently is lobbying to have Mars freed from Earth’s reign, but the elite unit known as the Gjallarhorn attack in order to destroy the seeds of rebellion that have been sown. This leads CGS to use the Augus and his teammates as decoys while they make their escape. The leader of the boy’s group, Orga Itsuka, takes this betrayal as an opportunity to launch a coup d’etat against the government. Charged with expelling enemies, Augus seizes the Gundam Barbatos which was a weapon from the Calamity War that CGS was using as a power source and throws down the gauntlet.

Augus Mikazuki

Voice Actor: Keigo Kawanishi

Augus is a boy in the Tekkandan. With a generous heart, he doesn’t sweat the small details however, if it is for his friends, he will not spare a single victim. Of all of the members of Tekkadan, he is the one with the most experience when it comes to handling any sort of maneuvering and skills related to machines. He pilots the Gundam Barbados.

Orga Itsuka

Voice Actor: Yoshimasa Hosoya

Orga currently functions as the leader of the Tekkadan. He excels in leadership and the other members have put their complete faith in him. This drives him to live up to their expectations of admiration. He has been with Augus since they were children so their relationship is stronger and closer than that of brothers. After successfully pulling off a coup d’etat, Orga founded the Tekkadan.

Eugene Sevenstark

Voice Actor: Yuuichirou Umehara

Eugene is the vice-leader of the Tekkadan under Orga. Sometimes in battle he has been known to give orders in lieu of Orga. In order to follow Orga who has become increasingly busy as the leader, Eugene is currently studying various war tactics documents. He is also currently fascinated with the way the alaya-vijnana system implants allows them to pilot the Gundam.

Norba Shino

Voice Actor: Taishi Murata

Norba is the commander of the first squadron of the Tekkadan. Normally he is lightheartedly telling jokes and messing around, however his thoughts of others are redoubled. In order to assist with the influx of new members, he also works as a military drill instructor.

Akihiro Atland

Voice Actor: Yasuaki Takumi

Akihiro is the commander of the second squadron in the Tekkadan. Due to his muscular body, he can pilot a mobile suit for long periods of time as well as he excels at tasks pertaining to defensive battles.

Chad Chadan

Voice Actor: Haruki Ishiya

Chad became a military advisor for Arbrau while he was and still is currently serving as the leader for the Earth Branch of the Tekkandan. Due to his wonderful personality and his sense of responsibility, he is deeply trusted by the other members.

Dante Mogro

Voice Actor: Taiki Hamano

Dante is good at electronic warfare and currently belongs to the first squadron of the Tekkadan. Since the number of mobile suits that belong to the Tekkadan have greatly increased, his earnest wish to become a mobile suit pilot comes true.

Takaki Uno

Voice Actor: Kouhei Amasaki

Takaki has currently been assigned to the Earth Branch of the Tekkadan. He currenly is living with his sister Fuuka in an apartment that he is renting. He has a kind heart, looks after others well and has a good personality, so he and Chad support each other while they work in the Earth Branch.

Kudelia Aina Bernstein

Voice Actor: Yuka Terasaki

Kudelia is responsible for starting the resistance movement on Mars. She is currently aiming to go to Earth and speak with the heads of Arbrau about independence for Mars. For that reason, she has employed CGS to escort her. Due to her successful “Noachis July Assembly” where she spoke about starting the independence movement, she was thrust into various spotlights and became the center of attention.
