What You Need to Know:
- It has been announced that anime producers Polygon Pictures will be producing the first contents for Kodansha's virtual reality idol project, VR Idol Stars Project: Hop Step Sing!, in the form of a VR music video.
- The music clip, titled Kisekiteki Shining!, promises viewers a lively and realistic performance only VR can bring. It's said to mix the positive song and cute characters with powerful stage performance and difficult dance moves.
- In preparation for its release sometime this summer, a smartphone application is also under construction. This will allow the audience to view the music clip with more accessible smartphone VR headsets. They also hope to provide a global VR streaming service.
