Synopsis

Set during the Warring States period of Japan, one day, demon gods suddenly appeared and killed every one of the warlords who were caught in a power struggle for hegemony—signaling the end of the world for humanity. Now, 150 years later, humanity is oppressed under the rule of the demon gods. However, there are those who continue to fight for freedom, known as Bushi.

When Kojiro and Musashi were children, they admired these warriors that they heard about from Kojiro’s father and swore an oath that one day they would form the ultimate Band of Bushi. However, they live in a town where the people worship the demons as gods and believe that Bushi are evil. Musashi is unable to speak out about his dream of becoming a Bushi and Kojiro is shunned by others for being the son of one.

Musashi is conflicted by his way of life, until one day when he sees a demon tearing a human apart limb from limb with no remorse. In the face of this coldhearted reality, Musashi and Kojiro take on the overwhelmingly powerful demons to make their dream come true!

Musashi: Yuma Uchida

A young boy who is the son of farmers and lives in the town of Tatsuyama. His parents died when he was very young and Kojiro Kanemaki’s father, Jisai, took him in. Musashi tends to read the room and act accordingly; perhaps this is a result of his childhood environment. He currently attends a miner’s school and is at the top of his class, but he keeps his thoughts to himself and just tries to fit in. However, the dream he promised his friend Kojiro of forming the ultimate Band of Bushi when they were kids still burns passionately in his heart.

Kojiro Kanemaki: Soma Saitou

A young boy who is the only Bushi in the town of Tatsuyama. After the death of his father, Jisai Kanemaki, he lives alone on the outskirts of town in a run-down house. He’s loathed by the people of the town and has been persecuted his whole life for being a Bushi. Musashi is the only person who doesn’t discriminate against him and their friendship develops into a brotherly bond. Kojiro has grown up to have a farsighted and cold personality; perhaps a result of his unkind childhood. He shows indifference towards Musashi’s proposal of forming a Band of Bushi, but deep down he intends to see it to fruition.

Hattori Tsugumi: Rie Takahashi

A young girl who belongs to the Kosameda Bushi led by Hideo Kosameda. Her combat skills are unquestionable and even Musashi and Kojiro recognize how talented she is. When in trouble, she uses a “certain technique” her sister passed down to her to catch her enemies off guard. Being the youngest child, she’s good at getting others to spoil her and she has a tendency to always rely on someone. She’s completely subservient to her foster father Hideo.

The captain of Takeda Bushi. Leading unique Bushi such as Aoshi Sanada and Shunrai Yamamoto, he travels the country in a flying castle, fighting to take back their country from the demon gods. Nanao Inusaka: Azumi Waki

A young woman with an unknown Bushi affiliation who tags along with Shiro Inukai. Hideo Kosameda: Wataru Hatano

The captain of the Kosameda Bushi. Tokugawa has entrusted him with keeping watch over the area surrounding Samidare Castle.
