What You Need to Know:
- Early this morning, the twitter account for the crowdfunded anime Twilight announced that it has met its goal to raise 15 million yen (~$136,283). Fear not; pooly conceived vampires will not appear in this series. There are still five days left in the project, so if you want to back it, now is your time. You can do so here.
- The series was created by Yutata Yamamoto who worked on Haruhi, Wake Up, Girls!, Kannagi, Kanon and more. The series will be set in Touhoku and is the third part of the Touhoku trilogy which calls attention to the region that was devastated in the Great 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami. The previous two series are blossom and Wake Up, Girls!.
- It will reach theaters some time in 2018 and already announced Kana Hanasawa, Kaori Fukuhara, and others for its main cast. Keep it here with us as we will bring you more information in the coming months!

This is pretty cool.
More and more producers are turning to crowdfunding for anime projects and they are succeeding. I wonder if this is a sign that power lies with the people and not necessarily the studios now.
