One day Ryou Yoake, a researcher from ReLIFE Institute, appears before Kaizaki and asks him to take part in an experiment that will turn him back into a high schooler for one year. Kaizaki agrees and starts his second high-school life - but not without being run round in circles by various characters.

Arata is a 27 year old graduate school graduate with no work. At his first job right out of college he fell into a deep despair and quit. While living his daily life, he begins to become aware of the difference between himself and his friends. He was chosen to be a subject in an experiment by ReLIFE that will allow him to go back in time to re-live his third and final year of high school.

Chizuru Hishiro

Somewhat of a great prodigy, Chizuru is a girl who holds the top spot in grades in her entire grade. She is hopeless when it comes to communicating with anyone, and if there is ever something she does not know or understand, she has a bad habit of getting online and researching it.

Ryou Yoake

Ryou is in charge of the ReLIFE experiment and works in the ReLIFE facility as part of the support department. He always has a bright demeanor but he is quite shrewd. He assumes the form of a high school student and supports Arata.

Rena Kariu

Rena is also a high achiever in the classroom, excels at any sport, and is extremely competitive. However, not to rest on those laurels, she pushes herself to do better and is a tsundere.

Kazuomi may have a flashy image, but in reality, he has the top grades for his class! Disinterested in anything related to love, he has a pure side to himself and detests exercise.

An transfers into the same third year class as Arata. An is quite optimistic and always thinking of something, or rather, is she not thinking of anything? There are times where she doesn’t know what to do.
