Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den chapter 20 started off with some much needed lessons in how Hachimaru’s body works and that he can’t always be too risky! As we learn, Hachimaru can regenerate his whole body from just his head, but an enemy probably won’t let that happen, so if he risks his limbs in the name of striking a decisive blow, it could lead to his demise. Meanwhile, Ryu admits he has grown fond of Hachimaru for having such determination and for taking such a risk to try to land at least one blow on him. This might help our samurai later when—and if—our two thieves find a way to take advantage of them. There’s also a realization in chapter 20 that Ryu has not one but two sword hilts, but as we know his memories are completely gone so even he doesn’t know why he carries two. The chapter presses forward when our party arrives on the planet where the battle royale will take place and quickly, numbers appear next to their heads! It doesn’t take much to figure out this counter shows how many participants are alive still in the battle and our heroes are already in the royale! Will this battle be possible for our new samurai Hachimaru and will our thieves try to pull a fast one on our samurai? For now, our focus—and yours—should be on the battle royale and guessing who will win this free for all tourney!
1. A Friendship is Born?
Kotsuga stills seems far from trustworthy, but Ryu is another story entirely. After their fight, Ryu has admitted he respects Hachimaru and this might be an important element for a future plot development! Maybe Ryu will even go against Kotsuga if he feels Hachimaru will be hurt in the process!
2. Let The Game Commence!
Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den chapter 20 didn’t even let any preparation occur before our samurai were thrown into the heat of the battle royale. Hachimaru had to quickly arm his blade and cut into several opponents the minute they landed! With such speed and ferocity, does this mean this tourney will be fast and brutal in turn? Our guess is most likely and we can’t wait to see it continue in chapter 21!
Final Thoughts
Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den chapter 20 has already set the guns off for our battle tournament to commence and that has us quite excited. Who will win this ultimate battle and will Hachimaru be able to keep up with his master and the others? We’ve been surprised by this series before, but we have some theories on what could happen!
