Synopsis
Nozomi Onda is a part of the soccer club at school but hardly gets to play in any games even though she practices more than all the other players. The club she belongs to is the boys’ soccer club at “Fuji First Middle School.” When Nozomi is in her second year, she asks the manager of the club several times to let her play in the first of the rookie games. The reason for why she persisted on this specific game was because of the opponent...
Back when Nozomi was in elementary school, she used to play soccer with her classmate Yasuaki Tani. When they were in fourth grade, he transferred schools and now he attends Egami Nishi middle school - the school they are up against in the rookie games.
“Soccer is all about one’s physique. There’s no way a girl like you can win against a guy who’s big like I am. Just by being a guy I’m already on a completely different level from you.”
That’s what Nameck said when he met her again after all these years. Nozomi hopes that by winning, she'll prove him wrong.
“Bring it on. I’ll show you what I’m made of.”

Nozomi Onda: Miyuri Shimabukuro
Nozomi is in her second year at Fuji First middle school. She belongs to the soccer club where she plays an attacking midfielder. Her skills consist of a unique ball handling, pass sense, and amazing dribble techniques. There is no soccer club for girls in her school, so she plays with the boys; but she's only ever played in one actual game.
Sawa Echizen: Shion Wakayama
Sawa is the helping manager of the soccer club at Fuji First middle school. She’s Nozomi’s best friend and has known her since they were children. She always supports Nozomi, who trains with the boys around her even though she doesn’t get to play in the actual games.
Tetsuji Yamada: Kouki Uchiyama
Tetsuji is in his second year and is the captain of the soccer club. He plays as a defensive midfielder. His nickname is “Tetsu”. He worries about Nozomi and doesn’t agree that she should take part in their official games. He has played with her since they were elementary students.
Kaoru Takei: Ryouta Osaka
Kaoru is in his second year and plays as a forward in the soccer club. His nickname is “Take”, based on his last name. He’s very outgoing, cheerful, and popular among the girls at school. Just like Tetsuji, he has played with Nozomi since they were children.
Yasuaki Tani: Shinba Tsuchiya
Yasuaki is the captain of the Egami Nishi middle school soccer club. His position is center back and his nickname is “Nameck.” Yasuaki started playing soccer because Nozomi suggested it to him when they were children, and now he’s gotten bigger and is the leader of the club at school.
Junpei Onda: Ryouko Shiraishi
Junpei is Nozomi’s younger brother and is in first grade at the same middle school as her. He also belongs to the soccer club, playing forward. He is equally skilled at dribbling as his sister thus has become a regular player in games.
Kouzou Samejima: Kouji Yusa
Kouzou is the manager of the soccer club at Fuji First middle school. He recognizes Nozomi’s talent and hard work, but he's worried about her participating in the games as the people around her would be grown, big boys. Thus he hasn’t let her participate in more than one game.
