Senran Kagura Reflexions - Launch Date Announcement Trailer
Who it Caters to
Everyone in the world has their unique fetishes, and that’s absolutely cool. Some are in love with the 2D waifu while others prefer a more three-dimensional feel, but whatever your passion is, we definitely support all otaku. What if you had the chance to take part in giving a beautiful woman a sensual massage, all in the comfort of your own home? Sounds promising, right? Well, then Senran Kagura: Reflexions, the latest title in the Senran Kagura franchise, is the right game for you! Anyone who has dabbled with dating sims or even things like visual novels, will most likely come to enjoy the back and forth style that Senran Kagura: Reflexions provides, along with its very ecchi moments.
Massaging Asuka never felt so enjoyable, and having the option to pick and choose which tools to use in order to pamper her are robust. No need to feel embarrassed while playing, just pick up your joy-cons and spend some quality time with Asuka, as you take her on a romantic journey through the art of reflexology, caressing, and hand holding. Help Asuka to melt away all of her inner qualms, and bring out the best in her with your epic massage techniques!
What to Expect
Senran Kagura: Reflexions is a one-on-one game, meaning that you’ll be spending time with Asuka and helping her to discover more about herself. Expect a lot of moaning and teasing as you caress your way to Asuka’s heart, hoping to unlock her most deepest desires and ambitions while massaging every part of her body. You can dress her up in any way you want, whether it be in some racy lingerie or if you like the school girl look, the option is there for you. Take part in 4 modes: Reflexology, Dress-up, Mini-Reflexology and Diorama. Each mode allows you to enjoy different experiences with Reflexology being the main mode to go to, in order to unlock items and more details about Asuka. As you touch different parts of her hands during the hand holding scene, you’ll unlock new scenarios which then open up new dialogue, and bring you closer to those magic moments!
Visual
If bouncing oppai and provocative lingerie is your forte, then Senran Kagura: Reflexions is the perfect match, visually speaking. Any fan of the series will obviously be familiar with how ecchi Senran Kagura games can be, and Reflexions is no different. The many settings that you’ll come across in the game are all detailed nicely, to give off a realistic feel that helps to bring you and Asuka closer together. That emotional bond you develop with her grows over time and on a visual note, the game grows on you over time. Everything is nice to look at, obviously one being Asuka’s well proportioned body, but the game uses a vast array of colors to really help set the tone in a lot of ways. The colors represent emotions that Asuka experiences as the two of you grow closer (or distant), and so it’s always important to be mindful of just how she feels, so that you can fulfil her inner desires with less commotion. The UI is organized very well and when you’re doing your usual business, everything is clean. Nothing gets in the way of the action and your immersion is maintained.
Sound, Music
Much like the colors you see on screen as you massage or caress Asuka, the music also changes depending on the mood. The main menu screen has a very cheerful tone and once you dive into the gameplay things get a little more sentimental. As you play through the Reflexology mode, you’ll be able to unlock new BGM for the menu screen, all of which really compliment the game entirely. While the gameplay itself is certainly the main focal point, the music really does help to convey what’s happening a lot more accurately, since it kind of feels like you’re on a date and you want the music to feel just right. Everything aligns so well depending on the scene and you become more involved also. We found that, as the music became more cheerful, our actions were directed more towards squeezing Asuka, but then as the environment and tone changed, we gravitated towards caressing. It’s not just about the physical but also the listening that matters too, and this just isn’t in the music but also in what Asuka says to you. We’ll dive more into this in the gameplay section.
Gameplay
To elaborate more on the listening aspect of the game, Asuka has a lot to say to you, and if you’re attentive you can pick up on various hints that will help you unlock her desires even faster. As we stated earlier, colors play a role in the game, and depending on the color that Asuka conveys her responses will change, which ultimately change the story in some way or another. For example, in the early phases of the game you’re best to start off by doing very non-sexual caressing to warm her up and get to know her a little better, otherwise she may get turned off by the excessive groping. We know, it’s tempting to just fool around, but if you want to get the best experience then starting off slow and building from there is the best. Things start off with hand holding and this is where you learn to unlock her inner desires, so you’ll need to be attentive and listen closely to her words as they’ll lead you to the right scene. Each part of her hand can be touched using the joy-con’s left and right analog, along with holding down the ZL or ZR button to have Asuka respond in some way. The longer you hold the more likely you’ll unlock a scene, and from there it’s fun time. However, don’t hold on too long as that could turn her off as well. Be mindful!
We won’t spoil how many scenes there are but each one of course is a different setting, whether it be in a classroom or the more intimate bedroom. Asuka will roleplay a certain type of character and it’s your job to massage your way to victory, and not be repetitive in your actions. Creativity is the way to go and Asuka will more than likely respond in kind to it. Standard Reflexology -hand- is the first portion, which is the hand holding, with the second phase being focused more on the body and the last being Glorious Reflexology, where you can use items like a roller and brush to really liven things up. In Glorious Reflexology you have different courses that you’ll unlock and will depend on the item you use, whether it be a brush, roller, etc. Mixing things up will help to fill up Asuka’s heart meter, which when filled will unlock a new desire and give you more information about how Asuka truly feels. It’s all about picking up the signals and once you’ve done that, Senran Kagura: Reflexions becomes a rewarding and stimulating experience.
Honey's Gameplay Consensus:
While the gameplay is certainly very appealing and sensual, we do admit that the dialogue tends to repeat itself, especially when you’ve unlocked the same dialogue more than once. It sort of robs you of the experience a little since it’s something you’ve already heard, and don’t really need to hear it again. The game itself can get repetitive since much of your time is just massaging and caressing Asuka to your heart’s content, but once again, if this is your type of game then it really shouldn't be much of a bother. To those coming in a fresh pair of eyes then it may or may not suit you, so just be aware that this isn’t your typical Senran Kagura experience.
Most of the time you’re usually throwing shuriken or wiping out a horde of enemies, but Senran Kagura: Reflexions is much slower and is a more relaxing experience. Senran Kagura: Reflexions is definitely better suited to using the joy-cons more than just holding the Switch in your hand, as you get that immersive feeling when doing massage techniques. It truly feels like you’re participating in it wholeheartedly, so we recommend using them at all times. Get ready for all the jiggles, moans and laughter! Senran Kagura: Reflexions teases all of your senses, and really creates an experience that you’ll only get with the Nintendo Switch.
