  • It has been revealed that Space Battleship Yamato 2202 will in fact not be a television anime series, but a series of anime movies.
  • The first, titled Ai no Senshi-tachi, will be shown in Japanese cinemas and go on sale with both Blu-ray and digital editions on the same date, 25 February 2016.
  • The two main characters and their seiyuu have also been announced. Daisuke Ono will be playing the role of Susume Kodai and Houko Kuwashima will be playing Yuki Mori.
