What You Need to Know:
- All good things must surely come to an end and that's the case with popular light novel, The Irregular at Magic High School (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei), as it will see its last volume in September. This was announced via creator Tsutomu Satou's official Twitter and he stated that the 32nd volume will indeed be the final one for the series. The official title for the final volume is "Sacrifice-hen/Sotsugyō-hen" (Sacrifice/Graduation Arc), and will officially ship September 10th in Japan.
- Satou unveiled the light novel series to the world back in 2008, and since then the series has grown in popularity with various outlets such as Yen Press and Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunki picked it up and published it for fans around the globe. While the light novel is coming to an end, the anime however is still slated to receive a second season titled (The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Raihousha-hen). That was originally slated to air in a few weeks, but was unfortunaly delayed until October due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
While it's certainly unfortunate to hear, we can only hope that this paves the way for more great content from Satou-san!
