"The Prince of Tennis" Will Celebrate Its 20th Anniversary with a Movie Next Spring!

What You Need to Know:

  • In 2021, well-known sports anime "Tennis no Oujisama: The Prince of Tennis" will celebrate its 20th anniversary. As a part of the celebration, creator Takeshi Konomi wrote an original story to make two upcoming anime movies.
  • The series is titled "The Prince of Tennis Ⅱ Hyoutei VS Rikkai Game of Future". This is composed of two movies—part one and part two. The movies will release early spring 2021.
  • Besides the airing date, a teaser visual and synopsis have been released as well! The visual centers on Keigo Atobe and Seiichi Yukimura giving the most firey of stares. They are clearly ready for their biggest challenge yet.
  • The Prince of Tennis II Hyoutei VS Rikkai Game of Future Synopsis: After the U-17 World Championship is over, the tennis players return to their daily lives. At Hyoutei, Hiyoshi—who takes over as captain—organizes the team and the third year students watch over them without interfering.
    Then, the Atobe financial group establishes a new tennis court and they decide to hold an exhibition match. The president's son, Keigo Atobe, chooses their opponent and you guessed it, it's Rikkai Junior High School.
    Seiichi Yukimura, the Rikkai captain, decides to take this challenge not as a champion, but a challenger and to share thier feeling with the new players and inspire them, because this is the last year they all get to play with each other and they want to leave a mark in their juniors while enjoying their last year together.
