Peter Grill to Kenja no Jikan is a high fantasy anime set in a typical medieval fantasy setting with magic, monsters, and humans coexisting with demi-humans. Peter Grill, a human swordsman, wins a tournament and he is officially recognized as the strongest fighter in the land. Peter Grill only seeks recognition from his girlfriend’s father that he is worthy to be her husband, but what Peter didn’t know is that once a warrior is labeled the strongest in the land, women from various nations or clans will come after him for his exceptionally-strong genes. Female warriors of various races will fight tooth and nail to bed Peter Grill for his seed, and they will continue until they get pregnant.

The majority of harem anime portray the guy as a blank slate or someone with zero personality, and they’re usually indecisive to maintain this awkward “status quo” where the guy never commits to one girl. Peter Grill breaks this status quo by having the main guy have sex with every girl he comes in contact with...aside from his girlfriend Luvelia—Peter beds two ogre girls, ogre girls blackmail Peter for more sex until they get pregnant, an elf joins in for the very same reason, and so does every other girl who wants Peter’s seed. The story begins with childhood friends Retto and Kirara sharing some intimate hand-holding, and the two are pretty much a perfect pair. And to top it all off, the world is in a crisis—aliens invade Earth and they rampage across the planet, consuming the libido of humans for sustenance. Without libido, humans lose their sexual drive and the freedom to express themselves, and with no desire for sexual excitement, people will no longer reproduce and the human race will face extinction. If you think Dokyuu Hentai HxEros’s premise feels familiar, then your hunch is correct because HxEros is similar to Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai. Instead of rebels fighting against an authoritarian government that hates lewdness, HxEros has heroes fighting against alien invaders who hate lewdness—monsters are attracted to anything that triggers the sexual excitement of humans (idol concerts, hentai manga, sexy photos, etc.), and devours their libido and turns humans into boring people.

Dokyuu Hentai HxEros has a healthy dose of harem moments with monster fighting on the side, mostly revolving around Retto being the only guy in the 5-person HxEros squad, and get into kinky situations. The kinky situations have context this time around because in order to fight these aliens, the HxEros must build up their lewdness power and release it as a devastating energy wave that destroys the aliens and HxEros’ clothes, leaving them buck-naked after every battle. Lastly, the art style is amazing and with studio Project No.9 doing the animation, we’re going to see a very attractive anime.

Monster Musume no Oishasan is interesting in several ways—one being if you enjoyed 2015’s Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou, especially the lamia (snake girl), then Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou is something you’ll definitely love because both Miia and Saphentite are very cute, especially when they get jealous when other monster girls make their moves on their man. The second reason Monster Musume no Oishasan is worth checking out is the world-building: history between man and beasts, how the beasts integrate with human society, and how the world developed years after the peace treaty. How this will translate to the anime adaptation is uncertain because the manga is surprisingly dialogue heavy and with a predicted 12-episode length, world-building might be toned down in favor of fanservice. Regardless, a story about a human doctor treating monster women while taking into account the biology of each monster will offer tons of kinky situations. Still, Monster Musume no Oishasan will bring out the beast in you and… well… inspire you to become a veterinarian or something...
