Which Room Are We Having Sex in This Week?
Another week, another abnormally loud episode of Skirt no Naka wa Kedamono Deshita. I am not knocking this anime as I laugh through most of it. Ryou really needs to get a ball gag, a pillow, a dirty sock, or SOMETHING to deal with the mess that is Shizuka carrying on like a dog’s squeaky toy.
Now this week, I finally thought that Ryou was going to whip it all out since Shizuka told him that she wanted to do something for him this time. I mean, Souryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni wasted literally zero time in having the guy whip out the D. That’s why this one is so odd. Though we did have that boner scene earlier in the series, so who knows. Let’s see. Anyway, this week, they are interrupted by the bell and Ryou has to run off to classes. Shizuka sees him talking to another girl and gets jealous. He walks back in on her crying and there you have the entire plot of this episode. It seems like they are trying to facilitate some sort of plot here since 40% of the show is about Ryou fingering Shizuka and 50% is her screeching. Either way, I’m just laughing at how ridiculous the whole setup is.
Kiss of the Dragon
If you haven’t heard of all the commotion this week, then you aren’t in the anime community enough. All of the talk is about this week’s episode of Made in Abyss. While the anime initially deceives viewers by being full of young cutely drawn children, it quickly took on a dark approach, and episode 10 took the cake. My moment of the week is, of course, all about Riko. It is about that moment when Riko gets stabbed in the hand and poisoned. At first, you might think that these two will survive dealing with that Abyss monster when Riko mentions that they have killed many raiders, but no, clearly that didn’t happen. Riko’s hand inflates like a balloon and blood pours from her orifices in a fashion reminiscent of Kiss of the Dragon. Then she begs Regu to cut off her hand to stop the poison from spreading, which is completely stupid considering she has blood coming out of every duct. I had to turn away from the image of Regu’s attempts to cut off Riko’s hand.
This scene is horrifying and ghastly. It completely changes your perception of Made in Abyss, which has so far not strayed too far from the rather idealistic anime setting where nothing can truly go wrong. It’s terrifying and shocking. It’s disillusioning. And that’s what makes Made in Abyss episode 10 the hot moment of the week!
The Cliffhanger We’ve Been Waiting for!
Have you seen the last episode of Princess Principal? If not, then you’re not missing much, but please go and fast forward to the last scene. To be honest, this tenth episode felt like pure filler, not only because the story wasn’t that appealing but also because it wasn’t that good compared to others... but as it’s common in a lot of media, there’s no best way than turning a bad episode into one of the best than throwing the viewers a good cliffhanger! So yes, there’s this other spy girl that was almost as good as Ange, the typical “rival character”; she was always the second, so we see her besting Ange as a big reveal, only to let her lose to her nemesis —and Dorothy— once again at the end, right? Oh, and don’t forget the “I won’t let you win so I kill myself” scene… sigh. However, the next thing we find out is that Control has a new leader and L is not there anymore; if that is not shady enough, the new General briefs the new mission: to kill the princess. Why was L removed and how will the girls handle this situation? Well, we have to wait to know that, but one of the best moments of this week was this anxious feeling of “Yeah! I knew it!”, followed by this other feeling of “meh… it was so obvious”. The only thing that could be better than this moment is that scene with Beatrice taking the wheel...
