What You Need to Know:
- It has been revealed that Tokyo Ghoul's mangaka, Sui Ishida, has recreated the first chapter, Tragedy (Higeki in Japanese). The rewrite is a 42 page spread with colour pages included.
- Titled Tragedy #001-2, the new version of the chapter will be made available in the October edition of Shuueisha magazine, Men's NONNO, which goes on sale on 10 September.
- On his reasons behind the revamp, Ishida stated, "It's been five years since Tokyo Ghoul started serialisation. I thought with this, I could deliver something new to those who have yet to read it... For current readers, I'd be happy if they enjoy reading the new chapter alongside the original to compare, and find something fresh in it."

Reactions Around the Web
A remake? With colour? Woah
Wait, why is his doing this for new readers? People who haven't read it yet aren't interested
It's pretty cool for existing readers, we can see how his style has changed since
This looks interesting... But I have never bought this magazine in my life
Ishida's panels and art have got so messy I have no idea what's even going on anymore tbh
Hmm, I wonder if he's just redrawn the first chapter, or if he's made changes to the text as well? I need to know!
Only a true artist can appreciate Sui Ishida's individual style. I look forward to seeing if there are any definite differences.
