Top 10 Angry Anime Boys

Whether due to the “rebellious” phase of our teenage years, or simply due to some unlucky circumstances, we all went through a period of our lives where we kept feeling angry. We had this feeling that the entire world was against us and our ideas, and every single piece of advice we were given looked like a lecture, and only was good to make us feel even worse. We just wanted to shout and cry it all out. Possibly, some of us actually did throw tantrums.

In the anime world, there are some characters who show the same feelings of rage. The only difference, though, is that whether they're in their teens, or they're already adults, their hot-tempered, angry characters just don't change. For them, is not just a rebellious phase, nor a fleeting moment. They're just angry, for one reason or another, and keep up with the bad attitude.

This anime season gave us good examples of angry boys, but we can't forget the ones of the past seasons as well. This list is made to talk about some of the angriest boys among the anime world! Keep on reading, and enjoy!

In an attempt to find the culprit, he doesn't care about the rest of the world, meaning that he doesn't care if it's destroyed or not. He only sees his goal. With high self-esteem, he doesn't even care if people like him or hate him; that's why he vents his anger whenever he feels like it. He doesn't care who his opponent is, he acts violent all the same, even when his opponent is a girl, or when his opponent is clearly weaker than him. He is completely driven by his anger. Then, he hates his name, as he finds it too feminine. What turned him into a very angry boy, though, aside from his complexes, is probably the fact that his best friend Saruhiko Fushimi, once a member of HOMRA, left the organization and joined the Scepter 4 – the Blue Clan, the police. Yata felt betrayed by his best friend, so the good memories of when Saruhiko was with him in HOMRA now hurt him and make him lose his temper. He is impudent, brutal and shows no mercy towards his enemies. He has a bad mouth and turns out to be very vulgar sometimes; he yells, shouts, and curses openly. He shows his short temper from his first appearance in the show; when all the participants are asked to do a brief presentation of themselves and start bickering with each other over a trivial matter, he simply jumps up and starts yelling, scaring basically everyone. He just keeps losing his patience seeing how childish and stupid his travel comrades can become, but ironically when push comes to shove, he turns out to be probably the most reliable among the 30 people who joined the tour.

1. Shizuo Heiwajima from Durarara!!

  • Episodes: 24
  • Aired: January 2010 – June 2010

Let's talk about the strongest man in Ikebukuro, Shizuo Heiwajima. Yes, the one who can take a car and send it flying towards his enemy. In spite being a warmonger, he was lucky enough to get a job as a bodyguard – his best friend, Tom Tanaka, hired him.

As he gained our first position, well, we can say he is the angriest among the angry. For as angry as he is, he didn't suffer any trauma in the past to justify his bad temper. Basically, everything started when he was a child and his brother ate his pudding. He got so mad that he tried to lift the refrigerator to throw it at his brother's face. Of course, it ended up in a failure and he was taken to the hospital. After that moment onward, his anger just grew, as well as his strength. So years after, the 23-year-old Shizuo, is able to fight his enemies by lifting and throwing them every kind of heavy object. What is very peculiar about Shizuo is that he actually blames himself for his character; he really suffered when he hurt people who were dear to him, or when he was feared by others during high school. In spite this, though, the anger keeps taking over him and he just have to fight, shout and throw heavy objects.

He wanted to try considering his power as a way to protect, but all his efforts ended up hurting someone in the end. As he gradually became isolated, feared and considered as the representation of violence itself, he came to understand that all he wanted was a place to belong to, and someone who loved him; the realization that it is not possible only manages to make him sad. Ironically enough, he keeps saying that he hates violence. This sentence is just the way he uses to imply that he hates himself, for not being able to be a normal person.
