10. Szayel Aporro Grantz from Bleach

  • Episodes: 366
  • Aired: October 2004 – March 2012

Let's get this ranking started with a very mean one. Szayel Aporro Grantz is the only one in this ranking who goes against all the good vibes that pink color should give off. He is an arrancar, so by definition he has to be mean. Although he is an enemy, he isn't simply mean. Szayel Aporro is a character who is twisted, and sadistic at the core. All the arrancars were depicted as mean, but yet they showed one or two good sides about them later on. It's not the case with Szayel Aporro.

He is the scientist of the Espada, so he is very smart and meticulous. Aporro has the tendency to see the others as just objects for his researches. He is narcissistic to a disturbing extent, and usually makes lewd comments about his enemies. His twisted side shows whenever he starts laughing maniacally, or whenever he toys with his victims.

He considers himself as a “perfect being”, since he can reproduce himself in another person's body, so he defines himself “immortal”. It's impossible to forget how he toyed with Renji and Ishida during a battle, by slowly crashing their internal organs. It took an even more twisted scientist to stop him; in fact, his meeting with Mayuri Kurotsuchi – captain of the 12th division of Gotei 13, and 2nd president of the Shinigami Research Institute – managed to put an end to his insanity for good.

9. Renzou Shima from Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist)

  • Episodes: 25
  • Aired: April 2011 – October 2011

Let's go on with Renzou Shima, a pink-haired boy who appears in Blue Exorcist! Life can be tough when you are an exorcist and have to deal with a bunch of characters who act all high and mighty. Renzou Shima knows it very well, as he has to deal with Rin Okumura, who is Satan's son, and Ryuuji Suguro, who is hot-tempered, who keep on bickering over trivial things!

He has a passion for pink color, in fact he dyed his brown hair in a peach pink color that became the reason why Rin and the others keep on teasing him. Renzou is very carefree, and has a passion: women. His young age – he is 15-year-old – and his lack of experience, though, drive him into delusional outcomes in matters of love.

Renzou has a girlish side to him. He is easily scared, but his biggest fear are insects. He can overreact if he sees one bug next to him, and this is another reason why he become object of non-stop teasing by the others. However, he is a loyal friend. He grew up together with Ryuuji, and he will show his loyalty many times. Aside from this, his friendly side shows up when he meets Rin for the first time. He befriends Rin, not even caring about the blue flames or the fact that Rin is actually Satan's son!

8. Shihou Kimizuki from Seraph Of The End: Vampire Reign (Owari no Seraph)

  • Episodes: 13
  • Aired: April 2015 – June 2015

Shihou Kimizuki from Seraph Of The End is another exception regarding pink-haired boys. Like we said, this color should give off warm and sweet vibes, but this doesn't apply to Shihou Kimizuki! Not at a first glance, at least.

The reason behind Shihou joining the Japanese Imperial Demon Army lies with her sister infected by the Apocalypse Virus. His willing to save her sister drove him to join the Army, because possibly this move will guarantee him access to the resources that can save her.

What can we say about his personality, aside from his caring-brother side? He is hot-tempered, and always up for a fight, especially when dealing with Yuu, or Mitsuba – those two are as hot-tempered as him. He is competitive, and diligent regarding school or training matters. Although he can seem very cold, he has a cute side as well. First of it all, in spite trying to keep his composure, he blushes easily. Then, his cold facade crumbles down whenever one of his friends is injured; he doesn't hesitate, he just runs to help his teammates!

7. Akari Dezart from Karneval

  • Episodes: 13
  • Aired: April 2013 – June 2013

Here we are with our 7th position with a tyrannical, hot, pink-haired doctor! Akari Dezart from Karneval works as a scientist in the research division of the Circus organization.

Let's say it bluntly; he is a tyrant, insensitive, cold person. In spite this, though, he has popularity among the nurses, who genuinely admire him. How can we blame them? He is a tyrant, and he hurts people with words, but he has no bad intentions. Akari just lacks the patience to filter words and make them seem less harsh, but he only speaks the truth.

Akari is rather irritable. This trait of his character is the reason why Hirato likes to tease him non-stop. While Hirato has a lot of fun dealing with Akari, Akari just finds him annoying. Akari is a workaholic, and it's fun to see how the most part of his patients just try to avoid having their check-ups done. In particular, Yogi is the most scared of Akari. So much so that he can't bring himself to look at him in the eye, and keeps on escaping whenever he has a check-up appointment with Akari!

6. Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail

  • Episodes: 175
  • Aired: October 2009 – March 2013

Let's keep on going with a pink-haired ticking bomb from Fairy Tail! Natsu Dragneel sure gives off warm vibes, even if not due to the pink color! He is a mage in the Fairy Tail guild, and wields the power of the flame.

His personality is very interesting. For starters, he tends to solve problems with violence, and he manages to bicker with all the members of his guild, in particular with Gray Fullbuster, who is his great rival and, ironically, wields the power of the ice. Natsu is carefree, straightforward and willing to demonstrate his strength.

He has a very loyal side to him, as well. In spite bickering with his teammates and acting hot-tempered, tending to solve problems with violence, when push comes to shove, he is overprotective towards his friends and without thinking twice, for as trivial as the problem may be, he runs to help them. Moreover, he shows a peculiar trait as well; he is unable to hold grudges, and so he easily forgets harm received, and forgives.

5. Ringo Tsukimiya from Uta no Prince Sama (Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love 1000%)

  • Episodes: 13
  • Aired: July 2011 – September 2011

Let's talk about the cross dressing idol Ringo Tsukimiya from Uta no Prince Sama, who probably gives off the exact vibes that you would expect from a pink-haired boy!

Ringo Tsukimiya is an adviser for the A Class, and he is a famous idol. He is cute, feminine, and highlights his nice features by cross dressing. In fact, his hair is curly and long, and his long lashes frame beautiful blue eyes. He is cheerful, and by his appearance is difficult to understand that he is actually a guy. For as cheerful as he is, though, when he is confused with a girl, he can get very angry, and become fearful; and he can get even angrier when he is not recognized as the popular idol that he is.

He tries to build a good relationship with his students, by telling them to call him “Ringo-chan”. He is close in age to his students, as he is still very young, and he likes to listen to their problems. Ringo was very nice when he noticed that Nanami had problems with his classmates, and he helped her demonstrate that she was worth attending the Saotome Academy!

4. Kisumi Shigino from Free! - Eternal Summer

  • Episodes: 13
  • Aired: July 2014 – September 2014

Let's move to the 4th position with a supporting character who immediately gained popularity among viewers! The pink-haired Kisumi Shigino is a cheerful character that, in spite his few appearances during the anime, is well-liked by everyone.

The reasons lie probably behind his appearance, as he is depicted as a beautiful boy, with messy pink hair and violet eyes, and his unique character. In fact, we can't deny that he was like a fresh breeze among those problem kids in Free! - Eternal Summer who had their own teenage troubles. Kisumi is a talkative, friendly and easygoing boy, who speaks without thinking. He can hurt people, but he just doesn't realize it as he is just as naive as he seems.

He is close friends with Makoto, since they attended junior high together. Kisumi was very fond of Makoto during junior high, and since he was a member of the basketball club, he tried many times to persuade Makoto to play basketball together. We could say that Kisumi only shows cute sides, as he is a caring older brother as well. When Hayato and Kisumi were on a boat in the middle of the ocean, Hayato fell overboard and from that moment onward he developed a fear for the water. Kisumi always felt responsible, but Hayato is just so fond of his older brother that whenever he sees him, he jumps and hugs him!

3. Ryuu Zaou from Cute High Defense Club LOVE! (Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE!)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: January 2015 – March 2015

Our 3rd position goes to a member of the Earth Defense Club! Ryuu Zaou is a second-year student at Binan High School. When a pink wombat appears in front of him and the other four members of the club, he is given the power to transform into the Thrilling Prince Battle Lover Vesta.

Ryuu has only one passion: women. So when Wombat coerces them into fighting in the name of love, he states that since women are all what's good in life, he will fight for them! In spite this, though, he doesn't take his role too seriously. We could say that the only one taking it seriously is Yumoto, who didn't even look shocked hearing a pink wombat speaking.

Ryuu's personality is very peculiar. He has a good relationship with all the other members of the Earth Defense Club, especially with Io Naruko, as they study in the same grades. Ryuu is easygoing, jovial and very caring towards his friends. He is prone to lend them a hand, except when he is busy dealing with his numerous girlfriends! What else can we say about him? Ryuu is totally pink; not only he is pink-haired, but he also shows a nice personality that gets along very well with our idea of the pink color!

2. Toyohi Utsumi from This Boy is a Professional Wizard (Kono Danshi, Mahou ga Oshigoto Desu.)

  • Episodes: 4
  • Aired: February 2016

Let's move on our 2nd position, with a character who found himself dealing with a difficult person as a lover: Chiharu Kashima, a professional wizard. When Toyohi and Chiharu meet, for Toyohi is love at first sight. Being Toyohi a straightforward person, he just tells Chiharu that he would like to know him better. Chiharu, on the other hand, mistakes Toyohi's honest interest for a mere curiosity towards a wizard's power. So the problems arise, as Chiharu lacks self-esteem and starts acting cold and distances himself from Toyohi.

What can we say about this easygoing pink-haired boy? He is stubborn and strong-willed. He is willing to make Chiharu understand that he is sincerely interested in him as a person, not as a wizard. Toyohi cheers Chiharu up and shows him what Chiharu couldn't see about himself; that he is a wonderful, caring person and that those reasons made him fall for Chiharu. So with his personality, Toyohi has all the good points that a pink-haired boy should have. Didn't he deserve our 2nd position, with all the patience and devotion he showed towards Chiharu?

1. Tomoya Matsunaga from Rainbow Days (Nijiiro Days)

  • Episodes: 24
  • Aired: January 2016 – ongoing

The 1st position goes to a narcissistic boy, known as “Mattsun”, from Rainbow Days! Mattsun is one of the four protagonist of this show that is currently airing. He, Tsuyopon, Nacchan and Kei-chan are best friends, but among them, Mattsun is the one who is more successful with girls. He likes to play around with numerous girls, and he said that he couldn't get too serious with no one of them since he tends to get bored easily.

Tables turn when he meets a strange girl, Mari, who is probably the only one that doesn't fall for his flattering manners. On the contrary, Mari shows him all her disgust, and she goes as far as to spit in his face. The irony in their story is that Mattsun, for the first time, has to fight to obtain the attention of a girl, who is head over heels for her best friend, Anna. We don't know how these two will resolve their feelings, as the show is still ongoing, but it's gonna be a nice battle for Mattsun, who until that moment had just to sit and wait for the girls to come.

Mattsun is a playboy, but towards his friends he is very funny. Together with Kei-chan, he loves teasing Nacchan whenever he shows his pitiful side in matters concerning love. However, even if he teases Nacchan, he is always prone to help him. In fact, whenever Nacchan is too shy to make a move towards his beloved Anna, he intervenes and creates the right occasion to make them interact. Mattsun has a sort of complex towards his little sister, Nozomi. When he discovers that Nozomi is interested in Kei-chan, knowing Kei-chan's personality, he gets all flustered and upset by himself. Anyway, he just wants his best friend and his sister to be happy, so he will calm down eventually. Well, didn't he deserve our 1st position?

Mattsun closes our ranking. We showed you how pink isn't always synonymous for nice characters, or girlish stuff; at the same time we showed you how it can be a color bond to caring personalities, or girlish traits. We chose these characters as they have different characteristics, ages, and backgrounds. Moreover, they stick to the pink color vibes just partly, as most of them are hot-tempered and like to throw tantrums! If you know other pink-haired boys who could have fit in ranking, let us know by leaving a comment below!
