I’m sure for average people in real life, health issues have always been one of mankind’s weaknesses throughout history as it was one of the most paramount factors for us to stay alive. When faced with such issues, we can’t help but seek help from the god-like figures that would cure and save us from all sorts of ailments. They are doctors. But as there are many incredible doctors in this world, there are still scientific limits to how they treat patients. Here’s the top 10 anime doctors that you wish would exist in real life!
10. Kenzo Tenma from Monster

Dr. Kenzo Tenma is a well-respected brain surgeon in Europe, having a bright career path in the hospital he worked in, and is held in high regards by many. When he faced a dilemma one night of having to operate on either a young boy or the town mayor, his conscience and morality had him operate on the young boy instead of the mayor, which was the ultimate reason for his downfall.
Shunned by the rest of society, Kenzo begins to lose his faith in humanity. After several mysterious murder cases happening all around him, Kenzo starts to question himself and his own morality, with regards to whether the decision to save that young boy was the right choice.
9. Seishirou Sakurazuka from Tokyo Babylon

Seishirou Sakurazuka is a kind veterinarian in the popular CLAMP series Tokyo Babylon. He is also known as the “Sakura Assassin” whose signature is cherry blossoms and the symbol of an inverted pentagram. Even though Seishirou is a veterinarian and mainly focuses on the wellbeing of animals, this does not stop him from being an ideal doctor for those who are in need.
After the end of the series, Seishirou returns in Clamp’s manga “X” as a continuation from the Tokyo Babylon series. Behind his gentle and kind demeanor, Seishirou is a cold-hearted secret assassin who killed Subaru’s twin sister. But nonetheless, this doctor sincerely fulfills his duties to be an excellent veterinarian even though there is a dark side of him unknown to the viewers.
8. Shirayuki from Akagami no Shirayuki-hime (Snow White with the Red Hair)

Being a botanist and apothecary, Shirayuki is considered to be very resourceful when it comes to medicines. Her abilities are shown when she stumbles upon an injured prince while she was trying to escape to the neighboring country. She tends to his wounds, thus curing him.
Since the passing of her grandparents, Shirayuki grew up to become an independent and dedicated woman who often only relies on herself and tries to avoid causing trouble for others. After a certain turn of events, Shirayuki eventually works as the Palace Pharmacist for Zen’s Kingdom of Clarines.
Although she isn't technically a medical doctor, she performs all the duties of an actual doctor, including diagnosing and treating patients. Besides, considering the era she lives in, it's unclear if females would even be allowed to obtain certifcation as a doctor.
At any rate, if you're hurting, she's one of the best doctors you could wish for!
7. Ryouko Mikado from To LOVE-Ru

Ryouko Mikado, an alien residing on Earth, also works as a school doctor at Sainan High as an occupation. To the untrained eye, she might seem like the ideal school doctor, but in fact she is an alien and usually hides her obvious extraterrestrial features – her pointy elf-like ears behind her red hair.
She is known to be very kind and gentle towards both humans and aliens. It’s assumed that Mikado gained her abilities as a doctor from graduating from an unknown school from another planet. With the medical abilities to help people and creatures alike, both aliens and humans will come to Mikado to seek medical attention.
6. Ray Kasugano from Ray The Animation (Ray)

After having her eyes harvested by the human organs black market, Ray Kasugano was eventually rescued by Black Jack (Kuro Hazama) and given a set of X-Ray eyes. Scarred by her terrible past, Ray uses her newly obtained ability to hone her skills as a surgeon and helps others in need.
Despite her quiet nature, Ray is very determined when it comes to other people’s well-being, as she sought out other children that were raised with her when she was held captive to be harvested for organs. She is also known for giving surgeries to people for free.
5. Shinra Kishitani from Durarara!!

Often being asked to join in and participate in autopsies and surgeries alongside his parents when he was little, Shinra Kishitani developed a knack for dissecting things. Being plunged into the world of medicine by his father Shingen, it became apparent that Shinra would eventually grow up to be an excellent doctor himself.
Working as an underground doctor, Shinra mostly stays indoors and rarely wears casual clothes as he is mostly seen wearing lab coats in the series. He has also shown interest in the superhuman abilities of others and similar phenomenon.
4. Kuro Hazama from Black Jack

Kuro Hazama is known by many as the renowned mysterious medical mercenary. Armed with his high skills in surgical knowledge and medical treatment, Kuro travels around the world with Pinoko to perform life-saving surgeries on people for extremely high fees. Although some might consider Kuro as a greedy rip-off surgeon, deep inside he is a very kind and caring person. To drive this point home, it was seen in the series that Kuro performs surgeries free of charge on people that manage to touch his heart… metaphorically of course!
Through a peculiar appearance, Kuro’s hair and face often give off a creepy and unfriendly aura to those unfamiliar with him. He’s also often seen wearing a black cape and only removes them whenever he’s resting at home.
3. Tsunade from Naruto

In the world of Naruto, a medical-nin is a ninja who specializes in medical treatment and utilizes their techniques to heal and cure others from injuries or diseases they might sustain from battles. One notable medical-nin from the Naruto anime is Tsunade, often regarded as the greatest medical-nin in the world.
Being the first granddaughter of the late First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, Tsunade learned to have excellent chakra control therefore allowing her to be able to master some of the most powerful and advanced jutsus there are. Using her expertise, Tsunade helps the Konoha Village through several occasions in terms of medical care and battles. Tsunade also possesses high taijutsu skills, often seen in the anime delivering powerful punches and kicks to her opponents.
2. Doctor Kureha from One Piece

Dr. Kureha is an exceptional doctor in the One Piece series. Despite her old age, she still considers herself to be “too young” and despises those who call her “old”. She is also considered to be in her prime due to her strong abilities to smash through thick walls with her punch. Following Dr Hiluluk’s death, she fulfills his dying wish of training Tony Tony Chopper in the medical field.
Tony Tony Chopper, a reindeer who ate the Hito Hito Mi, or the Human-Human Devil Fruit was trained by Doctor Kureha after the death of Dr Hiluluk. Chopper was able to gain the intelligence necessary to communicate with and understand humans. Innocent and naïve, Chopper is regarded as one of the most fun and quirky characters amongst the Straw Hats pirate crew. With his trained medical skills passed down from Dr Kureha, Chopper becomes the doctor or general physician for the Straw Hat’s crew.
1. Heaven Canceller from Toaru Majutsu no Index (A Certain Magical Index)

Heaven Canceller, often referred to as the “Frog-faced Doctor” by Kamijou Touma, is a very highly skilled physician that is able to heal and cure any kind of illness even if it’s terminal. He seems to not be bothered by the nickname Touma calls him by, and as a matter of fact, he even pokes fun at the fact that his appearance is similar to a frog’s. It’s shown in the anime that he has a frog face sticker on his medical ID Card.
As skilled as Heaven Canceller might be, there are limits to his medical expertise. He is unable to cure certain brain-related injuries and unable to bring back the dead, such cases include Touma’s lost memories and the Accelerator’s computation system. He is also known to be only able to cure humans.
