One anime that seemed to get mixed reviews in summer of 2017 has to be Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e. Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e was an anime full of mystery and intrigue, and many different characters. It’s a game of survival in its own way with students competing in order to achieve the best grades and pushing everyone down to get to the top.
The premise is quite interesting in Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e, but is it really enough to make others watch it? Well, we think it is all of the interesting characters that make Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e worth watching. If you aren’t sure who we mean or want to discuss some of your favorite interesting characters from Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e, then we have the list for you. Here is Honey’s Anime top 10 interesting Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e characters!
10. Kouenji Rokusuke
Like many of the characters in the academy, Kouenji Rokusuke is an arrogant student. Despite being from a rather wealthy family, Rokusuke is in Class 1-D thanks to this arrogance. It is perhaps due to his being from a wealthy and privileged family that Rokusuke is entitled, pompous, and obnoxious.
Kicking off our list of top 10 interesting Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e characters is Kouenji Rokusuke. Throughout the series, Rokusuke did nothing but cause trouble like trying to rile up Sudo or talking down to well, pretty much everyone. He thinks he’s better than everyone else, but as the anime has shown, he is the lowest of the low since he is in Class 1-D. Of course, it is seen that Rokusuke is actually quite intelligent as he gets high marks on tests without cheating like the rest of his class. We also see how agile and skilled he is in other trials that the class faces, but Rokusuke surprises us by not even trying to get along with his other fellow students or helping his class as seen in episode 9 when he drops out of the camp, costing Class 1-D 30 points. Whether you like Rokusuke or not, you know he’s definitely an interesting character.
9. Ibuki Mio
Coming in ninth place of our interest Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e characters is Ibuki Mio, the class representative of Class 1-C. Unlike the rest of her class, Mio is rather quiet but cold. She does not participate in the violent acts that her class appears to be known for.
Mio appears to be rather boring at first, but it’s during the camp arc that she really gets interesting. After being ostracized by her class, Mio infiltrates D Class in order to steal the leader card from Suzune. It is during this time that we see how deceptive Mio can be and also see her skills in combat as she fights Suzune, although of course, Suzune fails as she was ill at the time. Mio may not have the best first impression, but she didn’t fail to surprise us in the end!
8. Ichinose Honami
Ichinose Honami is the class representative of B class and a rather kind-hearted student unlike many of the other students in the other classes. She’s rather beautiful and in the series, receives a love letter from her friend. While not everyone may be kind, Honami rarely becomes angry.
Honami doesn’t seem like the most interesting person at first, but as you pick apart her traits, you’ll realize there’s a lot we don’t seem to know about Honami. Honami shows that she trusts individuals rather easily when she lends Kiyotaka her phone, yet she also hides many things about herself like how she attained all the points that she has when Kiyotaka asks her about it. In fact, she was quick to take her phone away. Honami always seems eager to fulfill her debts to others like when she owed one to Kiyotaka and reminded him of it when he requested a favor from her. However, Honami can also offer her help even when she has no obligation to do so. In this way, it really makes Honami a mystery as we learn nothing about her and some of her traits contradict themselves. Do you think Honami might be a character to watch out for? We don’t know, but that’s what makes her an interesting Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e character.
7. Sudou Ken
Ken is another student of D Class and referred to as one of the 3 idiots in the class due to how little effort he puts into his grades. Ken has even declined Suzune’s invitation to do a study group, despite how much he needs it. Ken dreams of playing pro basketball and has even been offered a chance to go to a school for his basketball prowess, but that offer was revoked thanks to an incident.
Ken is a very interesting Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e character as his background and personality are quite interesting. His mother used to work in the entertainment industry before she left Ken with his father. Ken is often judged for his appearance so other characters have picked fights with him in an effort to get rid of him, and despite his rather hot-headed temper, Ken is quick to give up if it feels like his situation is hopeless. It shows that while he may appear to be quick to bite, he can be rather soft.
6. Sakura Airi
Sakura Airi was first seen as more of a wallflower in Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu. She has pink hair and glasses, although the glasses are revealed to be fake following an incident in the anime. For the most part, though, Airi is really quiet and soft spoken as can be seen when she is asked for help in Ken’s case and when a shop clerk was making advances towards her.
What makes Airi so interesting is the fact that, despite her being a wallflower type, she actually was a gravure idol under the name of Shizuku. Airi appears to enjoy taking pictures of herself as well as of other people, which means she may just enjoy taking pictures, but because she is so shy, she merely only has herself to film.
5. Ryuuen Kakeru
Ryuuen Kakeru is the class representative of Class 1-C and a trouble maker right from the start. In the anime, it is shown that Kakeru is incredibly violent and likes to rule people with fear. Adding to that, it appears he can be quite psychologically manipulative as well.
We first see Kakeru when he beats up Sudo and tries to get Ken expelled for the hell of it. From there, we see Kakeru acting violently towards Mio and Suzune on separate occasions. All the same, despite his propensity for violence and trouble, Kakeru is wise enough to know when he is at a disadvantage and will concede in order to protect himself, as seen in the case involving Suzune and Ken. So, while we can despise Kakeru for all the trouble he causes our main characters, we are dumbfounded by how intelligent he appears to be, but of course, he is in Class 1-C.
4. Chabashira Sae
You’d think this whole list was students, wouldn’t you? Well, Chabashira Sae has made it on our list and she is Class 1-D’s homeroom teacher as well as the school’s Japanese history teacher. Sae is a rather blunt and curt individual who follows the school rules by the letter. At the beginning, Sae pretends to allow the students the ability to do as they please, then at the end of the month, relished in the students’ discord when it was revealed that school wouldn’t be as lenient as they thought it’d be.
Sae is an interesting character, not just because she is rather sadistic, but because of how mysterious she is and how she chooses to teach her students. She allows her students to as they please, but so long as they pass, she does not care. Students suddenly get 100% after failing? Sure, why not? Of course, Sae also seems to know Kiyotaka rather personally and is the only character in the series who seems to know anything about him and his mysterious circumstances with his father. What exactly is Sae’s part in Kiyotaka’s life when she appears to enjoy torturing her own students? Well, we have yet to find out.
3. Horikita Suzune
Horikita Suzune is a rather cold individual who ignores her fellow students for the most part. It is noted that Suzune does not get along with many, but Kikyou noticed that Suzune is willing to talk to Kiyotaka regardless of how she feels about the other students. All the same, Suzune still strives to help out her fellow students like Ken when he was being bullied and had the possibility of expulsion for his bad grades.
As one of the main characters, Suzune is quite an interesting Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushuji no Kyoushitsu e character. Suzune acts as a loner willingly and pushes people away, yet she continues to hang around Kiyotaka for unknown reasons. Then there is the relationship Suzune and her brother. All she wants is his recognition, but in fact, they are a rather cold family with no real familial feelings between each other. What could be going on in Suzune and how did she end up so deprived of familial love? Well, if only we could find out.
2. Kushida Kikyou
Kushida Kikyou is one of the students in Class 1-D. Kikyou is rather popular amongst her classmates and boasts about being the idol of Class 1-D, although she doesn’t want her popularity to end there. Kikyou wishes to befriend everyone in the school, but the task is made difficult with students like Suzune who rebuff her advances no matter what.
Kikyou is definitely an interesting Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e character. She tends to act as the bouncy and lovable type, but there are a few moments, when she is by herself, when Kikyou becomes completely dark and vicious. She has expressed great hatred for Suzune and has threatened Kiyotaka into keeping her secret. Kikyou has even gone so far as to grab Kiyotaka’s hand and putting it on her breast and threatening to get him in trouble for sexual harassment (although the breast part is unnecessary to say the least). Why does she become this way? Where did this two-faced personality come from? What does Kikyou want? Well, that’s not explained but that’s what we are dying to find out.
1. Ayanokouji Kiyotaka
Ayanokouji Kiyotaka is the main character and he’s most definitely the most interesting Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e character if we do say so ourselves. Not much is known about Kiyotaka, but he draws people like Suzune and Airi to him for no reason at all. That and Sae has a miscellaneous interest in him as well. Why is it that our main character is so popular despite his not actually caring for others?
Kiyotaka is a character who chooses to not stand out and does so in strange ways. He makes sure he gets exactly 50% on all of his exams, just enough to pass, but this in turn shoes people how intelligent he is. Kiyotaka has to know all of the answers in order to ensure that he will maintain exactly 50%. That and Kiyotaka knew exactly how to succeed in their latest test in the camp by manipulating Suzune and Mio. Not to mention there has been a rather odd flashback to his past and mention of his father. None of this has explained anything at all, but that’s what makes Kiyotaka the most interesting Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijoushugi no Kyoushitsu e character.
