Issei’s deep in thought about how much he cares for Rias but how afraid he is of making her uncomfortable with his romantic feelings. While they all felt bad for Rias due to Issei’s ignorant blunder, they also realize that they can’t entirely fault Issei as they haven’t been considering his feelings either. Issei starts crying, thinking of how his first love not only killed him but one of his most precious friends and how it hurt to be so deceived. It’s a touching scene (pun absolutely intended) and Issei’s tears turn into a smile as the others reassure him that he is loved dearly by them and Rias. To add a little humor back in, Xenovia spots that odd group and calls Irina over so they can obtain Issei’s coveted ‘dragon seed’. Everyone dog piles him but they all end up laughing together, even Issei who previously would have been somewhat uncomfortable. As Issei thanks everyone in his mind, each time he says a name the girl’s face and her boobies come into frame.

In this scene, Issei is enjoying some rare alone time in a sauna until Rias joins him, completely naked and with one goal in mind: to confirm Issei’s feelings for her by initiating sex. This breaks her heart while Issei has no idea what makes her get up and leave so suddenly. While it has a sad ending, boy is the lead up great. Seeing their naked bodies so tightly pressed together, hearing Issei’s inner pep talk, and seeing how forward Rias acts makes this the top ecchi scene in High School DxD Hero.
