Kamibukuro is Honda-san’s close confidant and friend as well as his senpai at the store. He is in charge of the 4-koma and manga sections within the store. He often gets into ridiculous situations with Honda-san shring similar reactions and antics.

Armor is quite possibly one of the most terrifying employees of the bookstore. She is the manager as well as in charge of the BL section. Ironically the series shows Honda-san as being the one having to deal with customers looking for BL, but Armor is actually the one equipped with the knowledge and skills to deal with them. She’s quite terrifying with how she decides things including signing up people for events and shift distribution.

Okitsune is a female employee who works with Honda-san and is technically also his senpai. She is very harsh with her words and speech, but she cares deeply for those around her and is always conscious of others. She is in charge of all Kodansha works within the series and wears a fox mask.

Gas Mask is a male employee of the bookstore and a senpai to Honda-san. Gas Mask, as their name implies, wears a Gas Mask and is in charge of all men’s comics from Kadokawa. Gas mask is a very reliable colleague and the members of the store often turn to him. He works nights and we learn this very late in the series when Honda-san goes in to help out one night.

Honda-san is the main character of the series and is the most unique for a wide variety of reasons. From the fact that he is a skeleton, to his broken English support, to his wide berth of emotions, Honda-san is the most unique employee at the bookstore. Sometimes he wants to murder people and other times, he is on the verge of crying or somehow yet again being pulled into a department that is not his own to support those around him. Either way, he is a very busy man and a loyal friend to those around him.
