Synopsis
The upheaval in Yamato begins with the death of the emperor. Oshtor, Royal General of the Right, is accused of attempting to poison Princess Anju. At the end of a battle, he has exhausted the power of his mask Akuruka, and his body and soul become one with the world. As he departs, he entrusts the fates of Anju and Nekone to his friend Haku. Haku discards his former identity and chooses to live on as Oshtor using his mask. Nekone is the only one who knows the truth. After escaping to Ennakamuy and recovering, Anju prepares to reclaim the throne left to her by her father, the emperor. Meanwhile, in Yamato, Raiko, one of the Eight Pillar Generals, takes advantage of the chaos to establish a false princess and take control of the imperial court. This leads to the Yamato army invading Ennakamuy to dispose of the true princess. Thus, the Yamato Empire is engulfed in civil war. This is the final chapter of the Utawarerumono series. All of the mysteries will finally be revealed.

Oshtor (Haku): Kentaro Tone
Entrusted with his late friend Oshtor’s mask and the fates of Anju and Nekone, Haku takes over as Yamato’s Royal General of the Right. Taking advantage of his fame as Oshtor and his friends from his former life as Haku, he works to reclaim the throne for Anju. He is currently scrambling to stand up to the imperial court forces.
Kuon: Risa Taneda
A healer with lustrous fur, animal ears, and a tail. Despite her youth, she is a master of her craft. When Haku, disguised as Oshtor, informs her of his own death, she returns to her home of Tuskur with a broken heart. She’s so distraught at losing Haku that she temporarily loses her memory.
Anju: Chinatsu Akasaki
The imperial princess of the Yamato Empire. Following her father’s death, she was poisoned and is now recovering in Ennakamuy, the home state of Oshtor and Nekone. She hears about a false princess assuming her identity, so she rises up to reclaim the throne left to her by her father, the emperor.
Nekone: Inori Minase
Oshtor’s younger sister. Her own actions led to her brother’s death, and her remorse for having indirectly stolen Haku’s life causes her to fall into depression from time to time. She tries to fulfill her late brother’s will by supporting and serving Haku, who has taken his place.
