VIZ Media Debuts TWO New Manga Series - ASTRA LOST IN SPACE & THE PROMISED NEVERLAND

What You Need to Know:

  • VIZ Media is excited to announce that both THE PROMISED NEVERLAND and ASTRA LOST IN SPACE will see a December 5th release in North America.
  • THE PROMISED NEVERLAND, by writer Kaiu Shirai and artist, Posuka Demizu, will be released in print under the Shonen Jump imprint and is rated ‘T+’ for Older Teens. Series volumes will carry an MSRP of $9.99 U.S. / $12.99 CAN each. Volume 1 of THE PROMISED NEVERLAND also launches digitally on December 5th via viz.com and the VIZ Manga App, as well as from the Nook, Kobo, Kindle, iBooks, comiXology, and Google Play stores. Future print and digital editions of the series will be released in English on a quarterly basis.
  • ASTRA LOST IN SPACE, by Kenta Shinohara, will be released in print under the Shonen Jump imprint and is rated ‘T’ for Teens. Series volumes will carry an MSRP of $9.99 U.S. / $12.99 each. Story Synopsis

THE PROMISED NEVERLAND

In THE PROMISED NEVERLAND, Emma, Norman, and Ray are the brightest kids at the Grace Field House orphanage. And under the care of the woman they refer to as “Mom,” all the kids have enjoyed a comfortable life. Good food, clean clothes and the perfect environment to learn—what more could an orphan ask for? One day, though, Emma and Norman uncover the dark truth of the outside world they are forbidden from seeing.

As ASTRA LOST IN SPACE opens, it’s the first day of Planet Camp, and Aries Spring couldn’t be more excited! Aries, along with eight other strangers, leave for Planet McPa for a weeklong excursion. Soon after they arrive, however, a mysterious orb appears and transports them into the depths of space, where they find an empty floating spaceship…

I really like the art style of THE PROMISED NEVERLAND. Reminds me of the Tales of series.
