- Violet Evergarden the Movie just released on September 18th, 2020. To celebrate, futabanet.jp ran a poll on their website which included 200 men and women from their teens to their 40s and asked "What is your favorite Kyoto Animation anime ever?"
- Unsurprisingly, Violet Evergarden was ranked 3rd (12.5%)! The TV series began broadcasting in January 2018, and there are 13 episodes + 1 extra episode. The main character is the titular Violet, a soldier who lost both arms after fighting as a "weapon" with overwhelming power in the war. After the end of the war, Violet, now with prosthetic hands, decides to work as an Auto Memory Doll—someone who transcribes peoples memories onto paper. Violet has little emotion and cannot understand the meaning of the word "love". In her duties, she seeks out the meaning of the word while interacting with various people as her new life takes her on a path of self-discovery and growth.
- The 2nd place was secured by K-ON!(19%), the slice of life about a group of school girls who revive their school's light music club by starting a band. K-ON! has two seasons and aired in 2009 and 2010 with a movie version of the anime released in 2011.
- And the most loves Kyoto Animation anime according to Japanese Pollsters is..... The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya! (23.5%). The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya! aired in 2006 and 2009; and in 2010, the movie "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" was released. At that time, it was the work that made the name of Kyoto Animationinstantly recognizable!
