What You Need to Know:
- It's been fourteen years since the original sports manga finished serialisation in weekly Shounen Jump, and its anime adaptation started airing on screens.
- Now, it has been revealed that Whistle! will be getting a live action stage play, set to run from the end of August to the beginning of September this year.
- The exact dates and cast are yet to be revealed, but original creator Daisuke Higuchi has expressed his feelings on this turn of events - as have the Japanese netizens!
"When I was writing this series, I never even dreamt that the day would come when it would get a stage play. Now, as one of the viewers, I'm looking forward to seeing how they will perform Whistle!"

Now? After all this time?
Woah, this is so nostalgic. This is still my no. 1 sports manga of all time!
I want the anime seiyuu to play their characters on stage!
A stage play is great and all, but I want a new manga too! Lol
I have mixed feelings about this...
What with other sports anime having stage success, this shouldn't be that surprising...
Let's just hope they do good job of it! I want to hurry up and find out the cast members!
