Discussion Time

That final panel with Norman says it all about chapter 129 of Yakusoku no Neverland. After Emma and Ray left, Norman was quick to journey to the basement level where several of his newer members awaited. The first odd element to the basement was the fact that the room was chock full of demon pieces ranging from heads, brains and various other appendages. Yet, what took our breath away was the others and their clear hatred for the demons. Not only are they consumed with hate—which we can’t blame them seeing as most of the demons do make their lives miserable—they seem to be suffering from a strange side effect to testing that was done on each of the members. However, Norman once again stole the show despite the one girl going ballistic and the others hating on Emma and Ray. Norman clearly is walking a line we’ve been talking about for awhile now. Unlike the past, Norman is willing to do anything it takes in freeing the humans and kids from the control of the demons…and that scares us for future actions he might take. We finally are moving away from Norman and his group towards the next big step for all of these big players…but what will happen next is unknown to us and the wait is going to drive us insane. Till chapter 130 drops, let’s discuss the positives—and one negative—about chapter 129 of Yakusoku no Neverland.

Why You Should Read Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) Chapter 129

1. That Angel and Demon final panel

Yakusoku no Neverland has had some big panels that made your eyes bulge outward in sheer surprise. Chapter 129 though takes the cake with that final moment having Norman look like both an angel and a demon. It shows that our once smart but kind kid is growing up but in a way that is quite devastating. Tortured by the demons and losing precious time/loved ones has made Norman a broken soul that isn’t as pure as he once was. We can guarantee that in the future, this will make Norman do something that will shake the very core of Yakusoku no Neverland.

2. Next arc finally coming?!

With all the players saying their peace, we have to assume that a new arc of Yakusoku no Neverland is soon upon us! Our kids are all moving forward towards different destinations with different convictions. Whose path will lead to victory and salvation? We won’t know for a while, but chapter 129 led us to believe it’s going to be an epic next few chapters!

Why You Should Skip Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) Chapter 129

1. No more Norman for a bit please

While we’ve loved seeing Norman’s shift from kind soul to possible future Light Yagami, we want Yakusoku no Neverland to shift gears a bit. It feels like all we’ve been talking about is Norman this and Norman that as of late, and it’s forgivable seeing as how he’s been stealing the show. That being said, with that final panel of chapter 129, we think it’s time for Emma and Ray to re-emerge as the primary focus for a bit or allow others who have been unseen—cough Phil—to be focused on.

Final Thoughts

Chapter 129 of Yakusoku no Neverland was everything we wanted it to be: The perfect reveal to Norman’s new inner psyche and the realization that Norman truly is a possible threat to the ones he loves later. However, the actual best element to chapter 129 is that it feels like a farewell to our current arc and a movement towards the next.
