Geelan has been an interesting demon in the Yakusoku no Neverland narrative. Chapter 147 dives further into his past after the internal attack last chapter. Originally, Geelan was one of the top dogs in the capital who tried his best to ensure that demons—regardless of class—were given their fair share. In a place filled with those who are greedy and vile, this was an obvious sign that Geelan would eventually be taken down despite how much he did for those around him. As we learn, Geelan was betrayed by his underling who he raised up and this led to his clan being stripped of their rank and being outcasted for a crime they didn’t commit. Thus, Geelan made it his mission to reclaim what was lost to him and his kin and he’s finally doing it…and doing a great job if we may add. Geelan takes down his treacherous underling and the demons seem to be losing numbers quickly! Waiting in the shadows is Norman and his infiltration team and as the last panel suggests, his mission begins here! Chapter 147 of Yakusoku no Neverland retreaded a bit on what we knew already but added some nice depth and lore to make sure we fully understood what drove Geelan to go against his own race. Equally, that last panel featuring Norman suggests an epic move is about to occur and we can’t wait for that to happen! In the meantime, let’s focus on why you need to read chapter 147 of Yakusoku no Neverland!

Why You Should Read Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) Chapter 147

1. Honor Filled Geelan

Demons have been established in this series as pretty ruthless and cruel. Understandable seeing as how the concept of demons doesn’t scream kindness and beauty. However, Geelan—while not per say kind—was truly an honorable demon. Instead of desiring constant food and forgoing those of weaker status, Geelan wanted all demons to get the same treatment. This led to his downfall but gives us a new respect for Geelan and his mission.

2. Re-Enter Norman

Last few chapters have only had small portions focused on Norman as Geelan took center stage for obvious reasons. At the end of this chapter though we see Norman reappear and it isn’t hard to figure out that he is going to commence hell soon. We know Norman plans on hitting the demons hard, but will his plan work? Emma and Ray are still traveling to stop their old friend, but will they make it? We’re guessing they will save the day but Yakusoku no Neverland has surprised us before so who knows!

Final Thoughts

Yakusoku no Neverland chapter 147 gave us a nice amount to process. Geelan was truly betrayed by his former allies and we now understand why he has so much hate for those at the capital. Norman’s making his move also means that Emma and Ray need to hurry or their sacrifices will be for naught. We truly think the next few chapters of Yakusoku no Neverland will get intense and we can’t wait for said intensity! Are you loving the last few chapters of Yakusoku no Neverland?
