Emma…did you fail? In our 152nd chapter of Yakusoku no Neverland, Norman’s party has struck the final blow to the queen. Our kids finally know that Norman’s poison is meant to degrade the demons to cause mass confusion but apparently the poison is only happening in specific areas. Meanwhile, the queen has—at this point—been defeated by Norman’s allies and we get a quick glimpse at her reasons for wanting power. The queen has done all of this, crafting the ultimate kingdom, making the farms better and ruling over the land for one sole purpose…meat. This shallow venture has cost the lives of probably thousands of kids and it was all for the best meat. When Norman arrives, the queen—now a head with no eyes—senses his greatness and desires his body but is finally put to rest by one last fatal blow. Norman stands over his fallen enemy and we witness him imagining a child Emma—in his mind—pull at his cloak as if to stop him from doing anything further. Not a moment later, the real Emma bursts into the room thinking she can stop Norman’s plan but as we see…she’s too late. A room of corpses stands before Emma and Ray and Norman looks at them both with a shallow smile. Norman has won, but what does this mean for Emma’s original plan? 1. Down With The Queen!
Finally, folks, the queen has been slain! Many demons have showed us cruel intentions and even darker actions, but we have to admit, the queen trumped them all! All of her actions were for her gluttonous desire for the best “meat” and that revelation angered us greatly here at Honey’s Anime. The demon queen has been removed from her throne and we will not miss her.
2. Emma Has Failed…
The most shocking element to chapter 152 isn’t just that the queen has died but in the realization that Emma has failed. Emma wanted to stop this blood bath from occurring but despite her speed and cunning she couldn’t stop Norman from acting out his masterplan. Has Emma truly failed or does she have a backup plan to unleash? We honestly have no idea, but we assume chapter 153 will give us that answer.
Final Thoughts
Again another big event has befallen our cast in Yakusoku no Neverland. The queen has been defeated, Norman has won and Emma/Ray seemed to have failed. What does this series of events spell out for the series? There are some theories we have but we’ll have to wait for the next chapter to find out if they are wrong or right.
